The 46th edition of Sigep World 2025 – The World Expo for Foodservice Excellence, which will end on Wednesday, January 22, was inaugurated at the Rimini Fairgrounds on January 18. The event dedicated to ice cream, pastry, bakery, coffee, chocolate and pizza, organized by Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), is confirmed as the largest edition ever, with 138,000 square meters of exhibition space, 1,300 exhibiting brands and the participation of more than 3,000 international buyers.

President Maurizio Ermeti stressed the growth of the event, which was established in 1980 supporting the artisan category for summer business, and its international reach. In fact, the Rimini event is currently at the center of a global network of which Sigep Asia in Singapore and Sigep China in Shenzen are also part.

Rimini’s centrality-as Ermeti further emphasized-is further confirmed by the new Guest Country project, which from this year will give special prominence in each edition to a foreign country with which to develop business relations and relationships. “For this edition we have chosen Saudi Arabia, which will be present with a large delegation of institutions and buyers, who will have the opportunity to deepen the offer and innovation of the companies present at Sigep World 2025. Which is no longer just a trade fair, but also a hub of professional and industry culture. With our investment in the Sigep Vision observatory, we want to support the entire industry sector and its communities, offering constant research and innovation to the different supply chains.”

What’s New

Among the new features of 2025 is the extension of the east wing of the Rimini Fair to two new halls: B8 and D8, near areas B7 and D7, respectively. The two halls arise with the aim of further enhancing two key sectors of the out-of-home channel, bakery and pizza.
Hall D8 from this year also houses the Bakery Arena, which will host the annual international baking competition Bread in the City.

Instead, in Hall A5 debuted Taste of Tomorrow, the visionary installation that redefines the eating-out experience by combining the principles of bio-architecture with an innovative ‘Glacial Drip’ concept.

Saudi Arabia Guest Country

Indeed, a distinctive element of Sigep World 2025 https://www.sigep.it/it is the presence of Saudi Arabia as Guest Country. The country, which will host Expo 2030, is emerging as a strategic market in the hospitality and catering sector.
Because of this, and because of its economic growth and demand for innovative technologies, the event offers host companies and their exhibiting brands a unique opportunity to build partnerships with key players in the Saudi market.
A delegation of top Saudi buyers, including big names such as Barn’s, a coffee shop chain with more than 800 outlets, Elite Hospitality/Al-Nahla Group, among the leading hospitality companies, and Al Tazaj, a quick service restaurant chain with more than 120 venues, enriches the event, opening up new perspectives for the global foodservice industry.
