From April 24-26, Italian Exhibition Group will bring the second edition of Sigep China 2024 to the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event will be held in conjunction with Anuga Select China, the main food fair in southern China, promoted and organized by Koelnmesse.
More than 500 exhibiting brands from 30 countries will be present at both events, representing the Italian sweet foodservice industry. And like the 45th edition of Sigep China 2024 https://www.sigep.it/, which was staged at the Rimini trade fair last January, the event in China is also the benchmark for innovation in the Artisan Gelato, Bakery, Confectionery, Chocolate and Coffee sectors.

The potential of the Greater Bay Area

Sigep China 2024 represents an important opportunity for growth with the aim of making our country’s confectionery art increasingly known in China. And the catchment area of Shenzhen is the perfect hub for development. In fact, the metropolis is the economic engine of the Guandong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, a veritable hub of the entire South China market. According to the latest data, the market exceeds $1.7 trillion in value.
Confirming the importance of this location for the target geographic basin are the numbers for the first edition of the event, where 40 percent of the visitors were decision makers. While the most represented countries, in addition to China, were Italy, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and the US.

Scheduled competitions

Sigep China 2024 sees the presence of three areas, where the main competitions that will give access to Sigep 2025 edition will take place.
It starts from the Gelato&Pastry Area for the Pastry Queen who will represent China at next year’s Women’s World Pastry Championship. Six pastry chefs will compete in the competition, which will be selected by a jury chaired by Louie Ye, among the most renowned Gelato&Pastry chefs in China.
The Bakery Area will be given space for the Chinese selection for the World Bakery Championship (Bread in The City), which will also take place at the upcoming Sigep 2025, with 8 teams composed of 2 competitors each. The event is organized in partnership with Richemont Club China, which is present through jury president Gino Cao.
Finally at Sigep China 2024 https://www.sigep.it/network/sigep-china the Coffee Area, with two brewing and latte art competitions curated by Coffee T&I, one of the most important Asian magazines dedicated to the development of coffee, tea and ice cream. In addition, a Forum Area has been established this year, tracing the Vision Plaza of Sigep, with the most important talks dedicated to the 5 exhibition areas.

Sigep Asia is born

The second edition of the event confirms Italian Exhibition Group’s recent expansion into Asian markets.
In fact, from June 26 to 28 there will be the debut of Sigep Asia, scheduled to take place in Singapore, which will have Café Asia, International Coffee & Tea Asia and Sweets & Bakes Asia within it. A true showcase of the artisan ice cream, pastry, bakery, coffee and tea supply chains.
