Sana, the historic international organic and natural food show now in its 35th edition, changes formula and evolves into Sana Food 2025, scheduled for Feb. 23-25, 2025 at BolognaFiere.
The new concept focuses on the needs and latest trends expressed by consumers targets Ho.re.ca. and specialty retail professionals and operators, and explores contemporary solutions and themes.

Sana Food 2025: the evolution of the consumer

Only one-third of Italians eat lunch at home, a percentage that rises to 50 percent for dinner, and out-of-home consumption is growing strongly compared to Italians’ consumption of food&beverage products purchased in large-scale distribution, which has been hovering around 160 billion euros for 15 years (source: The European House – Ambrosetti, 2024).
What gave impetus to the new trade fair format was precisely this evolution of the market, which, especially for out-of-home consumption – more than 92 billion euros in 2023 (source: FIPE Confcommercio Report) – responds to an increased demand for healthy and sustainable products. References that are innovative in composition and presentation and, at the same time, respectful of different territorial traditions.

Contemporary with Slow Wine Fair

The three days of Sana Food 2025 https://www.sana.it/home-page/1229.html will be a real journey into the world of healthy food, from ready meals to gourmet menus, to offer a complete overview of the proposals from the main production realities, especially with controlled supply chain and medium-small volumes.
In continuity with the previous format, organic and biodynamic will be the heart of the fair, flanked by new product segments that complete the picture of healthy food.
Space therefore will be given to references dedicated to vegans and vegetarians, distributors/retailers of plant-based and functional food products (“free from” and “rich in”, foods for sportsmen, the elderly and infancy, for allergic, intolerant people, those who have adopted a particular dietary regime, etc.).
While the contemporaneity with Slow Wine Fair https://slowinefair.slowfood.it/, the international fair dedicated to ‘good, clean and fair’ wine, gives added value for exhibitors and visitors, consolidating BolognaFiere as a fair reference point for quality food&bev and for strategic reflection on sustainability.
Gianpiero Calzolari, President of BolognaFiere: “Sana Food 2025 picks up the valuable legacy of Sana to offer food service and Horeca companies innovative and up-to-date solutions The event is proposed as an agora for the entire business community of the sector, called upon to reflect on the importance of responsible resource management and to equip themselves with useful tools to tune in to a consumer who is more aware every day and oriented toward healthy, sustainable and high-quality products.”
