Torino Comics 2024 edition, which will take place April 12-14 at Lingotto Fiere, is preparing to become the edition with the most authors ever. In fact, there are already more than 80 confirmed guests from the world of comics coming to the Piedmontese capital to celebrate the event’s 30th anniversary.
The guest of honor will be Claudio Castellini, veteran of international comics and author of the official poster of Torino Comics 2024. Roman, born in 1966, he made his debut with Sergio Bonelli Editore drawing Dylan Dog and soon after Nathan Never, signing issue 1 and covers for more than 50 issues. In 1993 he became the first Italian author to work for Marvel USA from Italy.
The team of authors
Also present at the Lingotto Fiere will be Silver, born Guido Silvestri, father of Lupo Alberto, a character celebrating his 50th birthday in 2024.
Saturday and Sunday at Torino Comics 2024 edition will be Fumettibrutti, pseudonym of Josephine Yole Signorelli from Catania, a revelation in recent years in the Italian comics scene.
Mirka Andolfo, among the most internationally renowned Italian illustrators, will not be missing, together with the collective Arancia Studio.
Numerous authors from the Cut-up stable, headed by writer and screenwriter Stefano Fantelli.
Big concerts return
On Saturday 13 the protagonist will be Cristina D’Avena, queen of TV theme songs with over 40 years of career. While on Sunday 14 appointment with Giorgio Vanni, most famous voice of the Italian cartoon theme songs of the 90s and 2000s, from Pokemon to One Piece, from Dragon Ball to the Knights of the Zodiac.
In the rock area of Torino Comics 2024 edition returns the Battle of the bands, a contest dedicated to all rockers in collaboration with Joey’s Garage. Through an online vote, 20 bands will be selected to perform live at the Lingotto Fiere to compete for victory. Up for grabs is a concert on the Xmas Comics stage, 10 hours of recording time at Ayr Studio in Moncalieri, and much more.
In collaboration with the TKC – Turin Korea Connection association, the area dedicated to k-pop also returns. The area will also host the new K-Stage Battle League contest, a K-pop dance competition aimed at soloists, duets and crews.
Two international cosplay competitions
Torino Comics 2024 edition www.torinocomics.com is one of the main venues nationwide for the cosplay world, with numerous events and activities organized in collaboration with the Cospa Family association. Scheduled for April 13 is the Italian leg of the International Cosplay League, whose 2024 finals will be held in September in Madrid, during the Japan Weekend event.
On April 14, as part of the classic Sunday cosplay contest, the Italian qualifying stage of the Europa Cosplay Cup, established in 2022 and attended by qualified cosplayers from countries across Europe, will also take place. The finals will take place in November in Toulouse, France, at the Tolouse Game Show event. Qualifications are for single cosplayers with performance.
