In anticipation of the Independent Winegrowers’ Wine Market, scheduled to take place at BolognaFiere from 15 to 17 November, Essere Vignaioli 2025. Storie di vigne e di vini (Being Winegrowers 2025. Stories of vineyards and wines) will be held on 22 October, a special event organised by FIVI – Federazione Italiana dei Vignaioli Indipendenti (Italian Federation of Independent Winegrowers).
This year, the event will involve 101 venues, including restaurants, taverns, wine shops and wine bars throughout Italy, with hundreds of FIVI-affiliated winemakers talking about and offering tastings of their wines to enthusiasts.
The Municipal Designation
Essere Vignaioli 2025 project, considered a record by the organisers, will have a special edition in Bologna. On 22 October, seven establishments will invite seven independent winemakers from the area behind the counter for a themed evening featuring local wines paired with local cuisine.
In collaboration with AMO – Associazione Mescitori Organizzati (Association of Organised Bartenders) and with the support of Confcommercio Ascom Bologna and the Municipality of Bologna, the event aims to promote the Municipal Designation (De. Co.) on food and wine pairings. The new project involves the entire metropolitan area of Bologna and Imola, for a total of 55 municipalities, and aims to enhance and increase the presence of wines from the Bologna and Imola hills in local restaurants through typical pairings. In addition to strengthening the link between gastronomic culture and wine production, preserving traditions.
Essere Vignaioli 2025: a thousand winemakers will flock to the next Wine Market
The event organised by FIVI is a “starter” for the 14th edition of the Independent Winemakers’ Wine Market in November.
Once again this year, the event is attracting significant numbers, starting with the winemakers – around 1,000 from every Italian region – joined by three delegations of European winemakers, representing the national associations belonging to CEVI – Confédération Européenne des Vignerons Indépendants, and 28 members of the Italian Federation of Independent Olive Growers.
Almost 40,000 square metres, spread over four pavilions, will be available to visitors and winemakers. The central gallery will host the partners and sponsors of the Market and the FIVI institutional stand, with T-shirts and other gadgets from the “Vignaioli Indipendenti” brand.
The programme of Essere Vignaioli 2025 – https://mercatodeivini.it – will be enriched by four masterclasses focusing on the theme “Wine, vineyards, winemakers: a family history”. During the event, the winners of the Leonildo Pieropan 2025 Award, dedicated to the memory of one of FIVI’s pioneers, and the Vignaiolo Come Noi Award will also be announced.
