From January 21 to 23, the Fortezza da Basso in Florence hosted Pitti Filati 2026 and Pitti Bimbo (until the 22nd), events that are part of the Pitti Immagine offering.

The 98th edition of Pitti Filati 2026 saw the Spring/Summer 2027 collections designed by the 103 participating companies—18 of which were foreign—take to the catwalk. During the exhibition, there was also a focus on training with the Cfmi Academy, founded in January 2024 thanks to a partnership between the Florence Center for Italian Fashion, Pitti Immagine, and UniCredit. This was the third edition of a project created to stimulate entrepreneurial ideas and launch a new generation of creatives.

There were new developments for Pitti Bimbo 102, which this year was scheduled to last only two days and was held in a new location: the attic floor of the central pavilion of the Fortezza da Basso (entrance from Porta Faenza). This edition featured 100 collections for fall/winter 2026-27, more than 65% of which were international.

Quality, stylistic and material innovation, international dimension

They were joined by suppliers, sales agents and distributors, media and communication operators in general, the latter numbering over 220.

Pitti Filati 2026 and Pitti Bimbo“Two trade shows with a similar profile in terms of what they offer (exhibitors), characterized by a curatorial approach, high-quality products, a constant commitment to stylistic and material innovation, and an international dimension, yet different when viewed in terms of their development trajectory.” While Pitti Bimbo is consolidating its transition to a format that promotes research brands, which represent the evolution of the market, Pitti Filati has reconfirmed its position as a benchmark in the high-end global market for knitwear yarns, Napoleone emphasized.
