This year, from 26 to 28 September, in the historic centre of the Piedmontese capital, between Piazza Castello, Piazzetta Reale and Giardini dei Musei Reali, the Salone Auto Torino 2026 brought together over fifty brands presenting their latest innovations for the 2025 edition.

Chinese manufacturers stood out in pole position at the 2025 edition, with 17 automotive brands present. Among these were many names that are now well known in Italy, such as Byd, Dongfeng, Evo, Geely, Leapmotor, Omoda and Voyah (Dongfeng group).

To reinforce this link, the event “Piemonte meets China – Turin Automotive Design Award” was also held, the first European award dedicated to Chinese automotive design.

Salone Auto Torino 2026: excellent results also on the tourism front

A few months later, the Turin Motor Show took stock of the latest edition, which attracted 500,000 visitors, while the economic impact generated by the event was estimated at over €5 million, particularly for tourism and trade operators in the area.

In fact, according to data from the Turin Chamber of Commerce’s Hotel Observatory, hotel occupancy was particularly high over the weekend (92% of rooms occupied) compared to the September average of around 78%.

The event also saw the tours organised by Turismo Torino e Provincia, funded by the Turin Chamber of Commerce, sell out before the Turin Motor Show even began.

Another success was the collaboration with the Royal Museums of Turin, where the gardens provided the backdrop for the masterpieces of car design. In the gardens of the Royal Museums, visitors were able to admire the ASI Bertone collection and prototypes by Italdesign and GFG Giugiaro. Pininfarina chose to celebrate its 95th anniversary in the Court of Honour of the Royal Palace.

Salone Auto Torino 2026: collaboration with MaaS ToMove

There was also great interest in the current theme of sustainable and connected mobility, with a strong link between the Turin Motor Show and the city’s tourist activities. The MaaS ToMove experiment, supported by the City of Turin and European funds, was one of the most popular experiences of this edition, with around 500 vouchers worth €20 issued to the public who registered for the Turin Motor Show Pass.

Each pass granted €20 credit to be used for public transport, taxis, car sharing and micro-mobility services, as well as for parking in blue parking spaces, promoting a truly integrated and sustainable mobility model.

Salone Auto Torino 2026, the new edition

The organising committee is already preparing for the 2026 edition of the show, the dates of which will be announced shortly. Among the confirmed features are the static exhibition and the test drive area, while among the new features is a parallel and simultaneous event dedicated to business-to-business meetings, so as to encourage networking between local companies and research centres and major European, Asian and US manufacturers.
