From February 23 to 25, BolognaFiere will host the 4rd Slow Wine Fair under the artistic direction of Slow Food. New 2025 the alliance with Sana Food, an opportunity to learn about and taste products that are not only good but also clean and fair.
The reason for this new alliance is recalled by Domenico Lunghi, director of Food&Beverage Direct Exhibitions at BolognaFiere: “Designed both for the out-of-home catering world, they will take the field – in adjacent pavilions – two fairs whose protagonists are quality, sustainable and healthy wines and foods, mainly organic. A side-by-side that allows us to preserve the specificities and identity of the two events, without mixing their businesses.”

The many synergies behind the new partnership

A historic event of reference for organic food, Sana Food will in fact maintain the focus on this theme, while the 4rd Slow Wine Fair will celebrate the sustainability of wine, thanks to the selection of as many as 1,050 wineries made by Slow Food (twice as many as the first edition in 2022).

A concurrence that is also an advantage for the visitor. For example, those who will come to the fair to look for organic food at Sana Food will also be able, with the same admission ticket, to taste the organic and biodynamic wines presented by 69 percent of the wineries exhibiting at the other event (last year it was 47 percent). And the same goes for those who will aim for sustainable wine from the Slow Wine Fair and will also find wineries from the fair dedicated to food.
But the synergies do not stop there. Thanks to the support of ICE, the whole project will be even more international. In fact, the presence of at least 300 foreign buyers is confirmed, 50 percent more than the 2024 edition of Slow Wine Fair, with a very large participation from Northern Europe and North America. In addition, the collaboration will allow the organization of tastings and moments of interest such as the Organic and Sustainable Aperitif.

The numbers of the two events

There will be more than 1,000 exhibitors from all Italian regions and 30 countries, with 157 foreign wineries – more than 50 percent of them certified organic or biodynamic – and more than 6,000 labels for tasting await fans, buyers and professionals at the 4rd Slow Wine Fair https://slowinefair.slowfood.it/. Central to this year’s event will be the theme of sustainable packaging and logistics of the wine supply chain, explored in depth at conferences scheduled in the Reale Mutua Hall and the Demeter Arena. While in Slow Food House there will be a focus on biodiversity, thanks to the story of Slow Food Wine Presidia. Debut for the space dedicated to the Slow Food Coffee Coalition, where 5 roasters will illustrate how to approach tasting in a conscious way, recognize and learn how to choose a quality coffee.

Pavilion 18 is home to Sana Food https://www.sana.it/scopri/sana-food/13243.html, Southern Europe’s first event dedicated to all declinations of healthy eating outside the home with a controlled and sustainable supply chain.
Space, therefore, for all that is organic and biodynamic food, without forgetting other product areas, such as vegan, plant-based and vegetarian beverages and foods, and functional foods. There will be no shortage of ‘free from’ and ‘rich in’ references and those designed specifically for athletes, the elderly, children, people with allergies or intolerances, and for those following specific nutritional regimens, up to PDO, PGI and SGT excellence.
