For the fourth year in a row, Bologna Children’s Book Fair BCBF 2024 2025 reconfirms the Bologna Grand Tour, an autumn itinerary through which the event, scheduled to take place in Bologna from March 31 to April 3, 2025, brings a showcase of the best of its initiatives to the world.
Also for this edition of the tour, the Bologna fair will be accompanied by BolognaBookPlus (BBPlus), dedicated to generalist publishing in collaboration with the Italian Publishers Association, and Bologna Licensing Trade Fair/Kids (BLTF/Kids), dedicated to the relationship between the publishing and licensing worlds.
The Grand Tour route
Organized thanks to the support and collaboration of ICE-Agenzia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the BCBF 2024 2025 Grand Tour kicks off at the Cartoon Forum in Toulouse (Sept. 16-19). At the benchmark professional event dedicated to the development of TV animation projects, BCBF has brought a delegation of 7 Italian publishers who will take part in business meetings with foreign operators and producers in the audiovisual sector. A participation that represents a moment of promotion of the TV/Film Rights Centre, a new business area dedicated to the exchange of rights between the publishing and audiovisual sectors that opened in Bologna in the 2024 edition of the fair.
This will be followed by the Frankfurter Buchmesse (Oct. 16-20). Here the event will also take part in the Italia Paese Ospite d’Onore 2024 program with several initiatives. Such as the exhibition “Matite giovani tra illustrazione e fumetto,” dedicated to young talents of contemporary Italian illustration set up in the Italian Pavilion.
Then for BCBF 2024 2025 https://www.bolognachildrensbookfair.com/home/878.html it will be the turn of China Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair (November 15-17), of which BolognaFiere is co-organizer, an opportunity to look out onto one of the world’s most flourishing publishing markets. Then on to the Feria Internacional del Libro de Guadalajara (Nov. 30 to Dec. 8), a reference point for the entire Latin American and Spanish-speaking publishing world.
Finally, the Festival International de la Bande Dessinée d’Angoulême (Jan. 29 to Feb. 2, 2025), among the most prestigious events dedicated to comics in the world, ideal for promoting Comics Corner, BCBF’s business area created in 2022 in the wake of the steady growth of the comics sector.
The 62nd edition of BCBF
BCBF 2024 2025 will close with the 62nd edition Bologna Children’s Book Fair, the world’s most important fair for children’s and youth publishing. An average of 1,500 exhibitors and about 30,000 trade visitors from nearly 100 countries attend each year.
Now in its 62nd edition, each year it draws an international audience of publishers, agents, developers, illustrators, authors, booksellers, librarians and other professionals involved not only in the book industry, but also in multimedia and children’s content licensing.
The next edition will feature Estonia as the Guest of Honor country.
