Cibus 2024 edition is preparing for its 22nd edition, scheduled at Fiere di Parma from May 7 to 10. Once again this year, the main reference event for the made-in-Italy food sector, in collaboration with Federalimentare, will allow visitors to discover the new products that draw the map of the main Italian food trends of the coming years.

The focus on wellness

In the Health & Wellness sector, 2024, according to experts, can be considered the year of collagen, which in the Parma event is presented in various forms.
We find it in mixed meat protein broth made from 100% natural ingredients without glutamate, preservatives and gluten, confirming how central the freeform trend still remains. Collagen also stars in high-protein, vegetarian and gluten-free bars or Taste of the world and Back to Nature

Cibus 2024 edition is also a journey through flavors and ingredients of the world, which often meet some renowned products of Italian agribusiness. Like the first chutney, a sweet and sour sauce of Indian origin, made with balsamic vinegar of Modena IGP or Himalayan pink salt with black summer truffle.
From the roof of the world to the Indian Ocean with Taggiasco oil with Madagascar bourbon vanilla. Curry sauce, Chinese Bao street food (steamed buns) and sushi mayo.

The new product innovations testify to companies’ increasing attention to issues of sustainability and responsible consumption, in line with the ESG goals outlined by the United Nations.
A back to nature that sees, for example, the debut of vegetable egg, a plant-based mix for both sweet and savory recipes. While farinata is reinterpreted by becoming a crunchy chickpea snack.

Cibus 2024 edition: the all local trend

From the trends of world cuisines to the all local ones, which often see the combination of great excellences of our agri-food, even Dop, such as Genoese basil with lardo di colonnata, a tribute to the craftsmanship that characterizes Italian food.
It remains in the PDO products with squacquerone di Romagna or burrata ‘nduja, which can also be used in the microwave thanks to an innovative packaging or ‘nduja also present with Halal-certified beef.

Curiosities of Comfort first

At Cibus 2024 edition, comfort first is when food becomes a pleasure and products become curious. One example is musical lollipops offered in many flavors and with a surprise: a built-in bone-conduction audio technology that plays catchy tunes as you taste them.
“Tartufami,” on the other hand, is a truffle salami with a parmesan-based topping. New items include finger-size drippings, plum cake enriched with yogurt and cricket powder, Mazara del Vallo red shrimp butter, and fillets of anchovy delicious, packaged for easy use as toppings on pizza.
