With a +17.1% increase over 2023, the Salone del Mobile.Milano 2024 recorded a record 361,417 total admissions (+100,000 over 2022). Plus sign also for operator attendance, which recorded +26.8% and 65.8% arrivals.
Data that confirm, once again, the key role of the event in the internationalization of sector companies, the value of relationship networks, but also the catalyzing force of an event that has gone beyond the perimeter of the trade fair dimension, on the push of a second phase of re-design of the layout and visit routes.
Peculiarities that have affected some pavilions of the Salone del Mobile.Milano 2024, in particular, the biennial EuroCucina / FTK, Technology For the Kitchen and Salone Internazionale del Bagno, sectors engaged in the experimentation of new aesthetics and functions in high-tech projects, increasingly oriented to a sustainable approach.

The return of China

In the top 15 market geographies to report the return of China, followed by Germany, Spain, Brazil, France, the United States, Poland, Russia, Switzerland, Turkey, India, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Japan, and Austria. An atlas that opened up new business opportunities thanks in part to numerous delegations from the U.S., India, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, France and Saudi Arabia.
Growing, compared to last year, was the presence of the media. There were 5,552 accredited journalists and media workers for a total of 6,778 entries (50.4 percent from abroad).

Design enthusiasts arriving from all over the world.

The interest of the public of enthusiasts was consolidated over the weekend, days when Salone del Mobile.Milano 2024 is also open to non-experts. In fact, there were 32,567 attendees, confirming the extent to which a level-headed offer is, on the one hand, an attractor for sector professionals and, on the other, an opportunity for the community of design enthusiasts to intercept new proposals and stimuli for reflection.

The number of Italian and foreign students also goes up to 13,556, including 8,368 Italians (+25.5 percent), for an overall growth average of 18.8 percent.
Exceeding expectations, finally, were the numbers of the digital community of the show’s multichannel platform. In fact, there were over one million interactions (+50% vs 2023) with an engagement rate of 60%, and 90 million impressions (+15% vs 2023). The app’s results in terms of service fruition were excellent, from matchmaking, which grew by more than 39%, and interactive map navigation, with more than 450,000 searches.

25 Years of SaloneSatellite

Also this year, at Salone del Mobile.Milano 2024 the SaloneSatellite brought to light the creativity of more than 600 young designers, celebrating the 25-year anniversary with talks, panel discussions, and live ping pong (author’s) matches. A birthday also the focus of “Satellite Universe. 25 years of SaloneSatellite,” an exhibition set up in Triennale Milano and open to the public until April 28. Curated by Beppe Finessi and set up by Ricardo Bello Dias, it is a sort of Wunderkammer, in which a selection of projects presented in past editions of the Salone’s under-35 showcase are accompanied by a continuum diary documenting, year after year, the evolution of this event.
