VendItalia 2024 edition – The vending expo, the main international event dedicated to automatic distribution, is scheduled from May 15 to 18 in the Fieramilano Rho district. Organized by Venditalia Servizi and promoted by Confida, the Italian Association of Automatic Distribution, this year’s edition can already count on a large number of exhibitors, more than 250, of which 33% are coming from abroad.

Focus on a growing sector

VendItalia 2024 edition takes place at a particularly interesting time for the vendig market.
In fact, the sector continues its growth. In Italy in 2023 there were almost 4 thousand – 3,742 to be precise – businesses in the sector, +1.5 percent compared to 2022 (source: processing of the Business Registry for Confida, on data from the fourth quarter of 2023).
The vending machines installed nationwide exceeded 835,000 units, while consumptions stood at about 4 billion for a turnover of 1.5 billion euros.
Lombardy, with its 478 vending enterprises, is in first place, confirming itself as Italy’s “vending valley,” accounting for 13 percent of the national total. Milan, with 208 companies, is the second largest city after Rome (with 249 companies).

The carbon footprint calculation

VendItalia 2024 edition will show in pavilions 8-12 of Fieramilano Rho the best of the production of machinery, services and products, all of which are characterized by a strong innovative charge, but with a special focus on the issue of sustainability.
Precisely in order to live up to the standards of its industry on this now fundamental issue, the fair has started the calculation of its carbon footprint, with the collaboration of Fiera Milano. This is the first event hosted in the exhibition company’s quarters to start this type of procedure, which involves the entire production chain of the event, from exhibitor engagement to dismantling.
Thanks to the experience of Fiera Milano, in fact, which has already started the calculation of the carbon footprint of some directly organized events, it was possible to calculate the emissions of the last VendItalia 2024 edition.

THE calculation was made taking into account pre-event activities (counting, for example, structures and materials), during the event (where strong impact had the mobility of visitors and exhibitors) and post-event (where strong influence had waste).

Building on this initial measurement, the goal will be to initiate a virtuous cycle of monitoring emissions generated edition after edition and undertake efficiency initiatives circumscribed to specific emission sources.

Training, conferences and workshops

VendItalia 2024 edition will not only be a time for business, but also a training opportunity for all operators.
In fact, there will be no shortage of conferences and workshops on industry dynamics and technological innovations proposed by exhibitors. In a rapidly evolving context such as vending, in fact, the professionalization of all those involved is essential to remain competitive and look at the new challenges of the sector with awareness.
