It ended on February 5 at Fieramilano Rho, where it had opened its doors on the 3rd, the international eyewear trade show, the 52th edition Mido. The event occupied 7 pavilions of the exhibition area and counted more than 1,200 exhibitors registering about 40 thousand attendees during the 3 days, +11% compared to the last edition.
A growth that involved both Italians and foreigners, who arrived from 160 countries, from Asia to the United States passing through all of Europe.
52th edition Mido: goal achieved
The president of the event, Giovanni Vitaloni, commented, “Before the opening of the show we hoped for an increase in visitors compared to last year. Thanks to the work of everyone and the confidence of the sector, we have reached our goal Among the exhibitors’ stands, we noted good sales performance and extreme interest on the part of the buyers, who were also present thanks to the collaboration with Agenzia ICE, for Made in Italy as a synonym for quality, excellence and transparency. The presence of the entire supply chain ensured dynamism and diversity of supply and demand, the only show in the sector with this characteristic.”
52th edition Mido: interactions on social media on the rise
Visibility in the media-from press to radio and TV, from social channels to digital platforms-is also good, not only in Italy but also abroad. This year, about 400 journalists were accredited to the fair and more than 150 reports were published only during the 3 days of the fair in Italian, French, German, Argentine, English, American, Indian and Dutch media, to name but a few.
Equally significant was the online activity of the many users interacting with the 52nd edition Mido through the web. On social media, 50 percent more people were reached than last year, and content from the event generated more than 2,000,000 impressions. Interactions were more than 250,000 and the app was downloaded by 25 percent more users, with a considerable increase in the usage rate, thanks in part to the new tool for exhibitors to register visitors at the booths.
Not just booths
Many meetings, workshops, round tables were held during the 52th edition of Mido https://www.mido.com/. Various themes were at the center, starting with those related to the medical-scientific field and sustainability, a central topic in the field of eyewear as well.
The Mido Awards were held again this year, dominating the second day of the show. Awards were given to optical centers, exhibitors and industry professionals who are committed every day, in various capacities, to improving themselves and their profession for the benefit of the entire supply chain.
The next appointment with Mido will be February 8-10, 2025 at Fieramilano Rho.
