He curtain came down on the 20th Marca by BolognaFiere on January 17. Italian event that unites MDD (Marca Del Distributore) producers of food and non-food with major modern distribution chains. As already anticipated by fiereitaliane.it, this year’s event exceeded all expectations with more than 20,000 visitors, representing an 18 percent growth over the last edition.
Record numbers matched the growth in exhibitors – 1100 in total – for a net exhibition area of 26,000 square meters (+26%). More than 2,400 business meetings with more than 250 hosted buyers from 30 countries attending the event and exhibiting companies were organized and surveyed in the International Buyers Lounge. More than twenty modern distribution brands were present and 7 pavilions occupied over 26,000 square meters of net area of the 20th Marca by BolognaFiere.

In collaboration with ADM – Associazione Distribuzione Moderna and with the support of the Emilia-Romagna Region and the Bologna Chamber of Commerce, the event reconfirms itself as a reference point for the private label market. A sector that in 202, marked a record turnover of 25.4 billion euros, 31.5 percent of the turnover of the modern distribution market.
The presence of both regional and national institutions was also important. These included that of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Lorenzo Galant, Director General of ICE – Agency.

Also good on the media front

The 20th Marca by BolognaFiere https://www.marca.bolognafiere.it/home/1348.html also had record numbers in communication: more than 750 journalists accredited to the event, the website received 150,000 visits in the last six months from 70,000 unique users, and in the first 15 days of January alone, 2 million page views. The Exhibitor Catalog was consulted 400,000 times. Social views exceeded 350,000 impressions in the last quarter. Finally, Marca by BolognaFiere is the leading agribusiness fair in Italy on LinkedIn.

Meanwhile, the date of the next edition of Marca by BolognaFiere has been announced, which will take place Jan. 15-16, 2025.
