Following the success of 2023, Marca 2024 by BolognaFiere, scheduled for January 16 and 17, 2024, is preparing to be the largest ever. In fact, lthe 20th edition will have 7 pavilions occupying a total of 25,000 net square meters of exhibition space, a 20 percent increase over the last edition.
Positive trend for private labels
The event’s growth is also confirmed by sales figures for private label products. According to Circana for the Marca 2024 by BolognaFiere Observatory, private label grew by 16.7 percent in value in September, reaching 22.1 share points, up 1.3 points from the same period in 2022. This growth was also confirmed in “real” terms, with a volume increase of +4.1%.
A positive trend that reveals how MDD is increasingly present in the Italians’ shopping cart, due to the trust placed by consumers in the quality of the products. Thus reclaiming a prominent role in the Italian economy, despite the uncertainty surrounding the scenario of the period.
Marca 2024: growing international interest
With the strategic and dimensional growth of this market and the Bologna event, the interest of international buyers is also increasing. Thanks to the overseas promotion activities put in place by BolognaFiere and the collaboration of ICE-Agenzia, the participation of buyers from Latin America, Europe, and the United States has been confirmed.
Among the compartments, food will continue to play the predominant role, but the non-food exhibition area is also expanding. This compartment particularly expands the proposals for home, pet and personal care.
Marca 2024 Fresh and Brand Tech
The exhibition area and number of companies registered also doubles at Marca Fresh and Marca Tech. Produced in collaboration with SGMarketing, the first event is gathering memberships from companies specializing in fresh and ultra-fresh products. Marca Tech, on the other hand, is the area dedicated to companies in packaging, logistics, raw materials, ingredients, technology and services for modern organized distribution. It will celebrate its first 10 years in January and will be the stage to address, with an innovative and sustainable approach, topics attributable to the supply chain of private label products.
In addition, the next edition of Marca 2024 by BolognaFiere www.marca.bolognafiere.it will feature the International Private Label Show (IPLS), an exhibition area dedicated to companies’ novelty products, grouped according to 8 industry megatrends indicated by Expertise On Field- IPLC.
It will be a journey through local product innovations, innovations dedicated to wellness and health, Free From/Rich In products, Flexitarian-Vegetarian-Vegan food, ready-to-eat (also for Food Service and Ho.Re.Ca channels), innovative or reduced Pack, Made in Italy, and Sustainability.
