
The 125a Fieracavalli Verona started on November 9th and ended on Sunday the 12th at Verona Fiere. The Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry Francesco Lollobrigida inaugurated the 125th edition.
A fair that represents a sector that in Italy is worth almost 3 billion euros, employs 35 thousand people and directly involves 100 thousand horses in sports (research source “The winning horse” – Luiss Business School and Fise).
Suffice it to say that the total number of specimens registered in the country exceeds 380 thousand units, with 140 thousand farms involved in the valorisation of the 32 Italian horse breeds. Furthermore, there are 1,400 agritourisms involved in horse riding activities (source Confagricoltura).
The numbers of the 125a Fieracavalli Verona Participating in the event this year are over 700 exhibiting companies from 25 countries, 35 breeding associations, 12 pavilions of the fair, with 2,500 horses of over 60 breeds on display.
There are over 200 initiatives on the calendar, including shows, evening galas, conferences, competitions and sports competitions. A schedule of sporting events reserved not only for professionals in the sector, but also for enthusiasts and the curious. Anticipation for the twenty-second edition of Jumping Verona, the only Italian stage of the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup, which will culminate in the CSI5-W Grand Prix on Sunday 12 November, to conquer the fourth stage of the Western European League of the World Cup.
The same competition ground of the international show jumping elite will also be the stage for the finals of the Italian Champions Tour, a team circuit branded 125a Fieracavalli Verona and the Sicilian Region, which arrives in Verona after 4 stages in as many Italian regions. Pavilion 8 will also host the special event 125×125 Gran Premio Fieracavalli which will see the 125 best national duos involved. The young promises of tomorrow are, however, the absolute protagonists of the four days of competitions scheduled at the FISE Arena (Pavilion 5).
From the English riding we move on to the American one with the Westernshow: two entire pavilions dedicated to the most important Stars and Stripes competitions.
“Sapori di Razza” is back
Not only sport, but also entertainment at the 125a Fieracavalli Verona https://fieracavalli.it/it/. Among the many events, mention should be made of the second edition of “Sapori di Razza”, a contest created with the aim of highlighting the culinary specialties influenced by equestrian culture from all over the world, in which 4 participants for 3 categories for a total of 12 foods truck, will be evaluated by an expert jury.
Guest, for the second consecutive year, is chef Alessandro Borghese who, with his wife and daughters, has become a frequent visitor to the equestrian world. He will be the one to tell through the official social channels how equestrian and agricultural culture has influenced street food recipes and to award the Sapori Di Razza Best Street Food 2023 and Sapori Di Razza Best Look 2023 awards to the jury and the public on November 12 in the ring of area D.
