In addition to the news regarding this segment, visitors are thus offered an opportunity to discover firsthand the potential and prerogatives of what has established itself as a real market phenomenon in recent years.
In fact, the confirmations come from the numbers. Suffice it to say that in 2022 alone, eBikes in Europe and the United Kingdom exceeded 5.5 million units sold (+8.6% vs 2021).
Even in Italy, the popularity of assisted pedaling has grown over the last few seasons. Last year recorded around 340,000 pieces sold (+14% to 2021), but what is impressive is the growth trend from 2019 to 2022, which recorded 72%.
Eicma Milano 2023: testing not only “with your eyes”
The new eBike Area will be built outside pavilion 18 as a natural extension of the space reserved for Y.U.M (acronym for “Your Urban Mobility”), another exhibition novelty of this 80th event.
In the new area, the pedal and motor two-wheel industry will bring its response to the new demand for mobility coming from cities and beyond. Here the public will be able to visit the stands of companies, institutions, talks and informative meetings and, above all, the startups of the sector, to which Eicma Milano 2023 https://www.eicma.it/it/ offers an international showcase thanks to the support of ICE, the Agency for the promotion abroad and the internationalization of Italian companies.
The test area where all the products on display can be put to the test is made up of climbs, jumps, steps and technical passages on tires and tubes, or a simple flat route suitable for everyone. Access to this area, made available to exhibiting companies and adults only, will be accessible however without necessarily having to face the obstacles. A feature that makes it suitable for everyone and open to the use of any type of electric bicycle.
Among the brands that will make their eBikes available to visitors are Scott, Bergamont, Thok, CBT Italia, Ducati, World Dimension, Yamaha, MotorParts and Cicli Lombardo.
