Eicma ed 2023, the international two-wheel exhibition which will be held from 9 to 12 November in the pavilions of Fieramilano Rho, is preparing to launch some new features for the 80th edition.
Among these is the debut of gaming with the launch of Eicma Esports Arena, an exhibition content dedicated to the world of electronic sports and motorsport video games, which also includes a real online motocross championship, the Eicma Esports Mx, open to players from all over the world. Europe and the United States.
Four races on the calendar, which will take place on digital reproductions of the most legendary and representative Italian tracks. It starts on 2 October from the cross temple of Maggiora, moving on to Arco di Trento (9 October), then Mantua (16 October) and, finally, Riola Sardo (23 October).
The top ten finishers in the online championship will earn a ticket to Milan with destination Eicma ed 2023. Here on Saturday 11 November they will play the finals in the Eicma Esports Arena on the faithful digital reproduction of the Motolive off-road track, the event within the event which is set up every year in the external area of the exhibition centre.
Involve young and very young people
To develop the new gaming project, the organizers chose Init Esports, an American company and global player for special Sim Racing events and motorcycle Esports tournaments.
This is an opportunity “to involve young and very young people and promote the values of our world” recalled the executive director of Eicma ed 2023 Milan, Giacomo Casartelli, who sees in this new content, “which for us is a strategic positioning desired and sought after, an effective and indispensable tool to create a seamless bridge between the digital and physical worlds and to dialogue with the future customers of the industry that we bring to the scene.”

Waiting for the 2023 edition
Eicma ed 2023 www.eicma.it. promises to replicate the numbers of 2022, which saw the participation of over 1,300 brands, 59% coming from abroad, representing 45 nations. As well as the six occupied pavilions in the fairgrounds, packed with visitors. At the end of the five days of exhibition, it totaled +38% in overall attendance compared to the previous year. In particular, 82% of the tickets were purchased online on the event’s official website, while 18% of the public opted for the physical ticket office.
The numbers linked to the business sector were important with 38,747 operators in the sector (+35% on 2021) who visited the exhibition, of which more than 51% came from abroad. The data regarding the presence of the media is also growing: over 6900 accredited professionals (38% foreign) including journalists, influencers, technicians and communication professionals.
