Zoomark Bologna 2023, which took place from 15 to 17 May at BolognaFiere, ended with around 28,000 visitors – 62% of whom were from abroad.
A balance that marks a record for the international pet food and pet care fair, which attracted 1,060 exhibitors from 57 countries.
Antonio Bruzzone, general manager of BolognaFiere, said: “Attendance at Zoomark Bologna 2023 reached 27,950 people from all over the world. If the bad weather has greatly hindered the movement of Italians, the percentage of visitors from abroad has doubled compared to the last pre-Covid edition, reaching 62% of the total”.
All the big names in the pet sector also responded to the appeal of the 20th edition, which was able to count on over a thousand companies, 75% of which from abroad, occupying an exhibition area of 68,000 square meters, distributed in 7 pavilions .

Reference for the global pet business

Numbers that confirm the good health of the sector. In fact, the pet industry is experiencing a phase of strong expansion, as demonstrated by the data of the XVI Assalco-Zoomark Report, presented at BolognaFiere on the occasion of the inaugural conference.
“In such a context, the fact that all the main brands have chosen Zoomark Bologna 2023 as their official showcase certifies its role as a leading platform for global pet business”, underlined Bruzzone.
In support of this declaration, also the nine foreign collectives from the United States, China, Canada, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Greece, the Czech Republic, India and Thailand.

The Pet Vision Awards debut

Among the novelties of this year at Zoomark Bologna 2023 https://www.zoomark.it/home/2804.html the Pet Vision area, which enhanced a selection of over 500 new products in a path hinged around the five macro trends destined to dominate the pet market of the future. Of great inspiration for pet shops, buyers and purchasing managers, these mega trends – Green transition, Healthy & functional, Value for money, Tailor-made and Spoil me more – have indicated the most sustainable, functional and health-conscious products and services to well-being, with the best quality-price ratio, more specialized and personalized, and more distinctly voluptuous.

Another novelty at Zoomark Bologna 2023 were the Pet Vision Awards, awards assigned for each category by an international jury of sector journalists.
Also worthy of note on the subject of innovation is the debut of NEXT, a space reserved for over fifty young pet start-ups.
