Not only menswear, but also lifestyle and – as befits a summer edition – beachwear and accessories for camping and walking for Pitti Immagine Uomo 104, from 13 to 16 June in the Fortezza da Basso in Florence. The presence of the special area dedicated to pets and S|Style sustainable style has also been confirmed in June.
The project, now in its seventh edition, was born in 2020 in the midst of the pandemic to fill a cultural, social and market need to talk, to discover and tell about a new fashion for conceiving collections and seasonality: respecting the environment and looking to the future .
The selection of participating brands is based on criteria of social and environmental responsibility, crucial values that make up the DNA of each brand, while placing the emphasis on creativity and design.
Pitti Immagine Uomo 104 and the partnership with Kering Material Innovation Lab
The exhibition project promoted by the Pitti Discovery Foundation, which has attracted the attention of the international press and top buyers since its inception, is in fact an important showcase for ten international brands, selected from all over the world by journalist and curator Giorgia Cantarini.
The brands that will participate are Cavia (Italy), Dalpaos (Italy), Dhruv Kapoor (India), Isnurh (Denmark), Jeanne Friot (France), Ksenia Schnaider (Ukraine), Olooh Concept (Ivory Coast), Permu (UK United), Steven Passaro (France), Young n Sang (South Korea).
The seventh edition within Pitti Immagine Uomo 104 https://uomo.pittimmagine.com/ also welcomes for the first time the exclusive partnership with Kering Material Innovation Lab (Kering MIL).
Born in Milan in 2013, the internal research center of the Kering group is committed to reducing the overall environmental impact through the transition of all brands of the Kering group towards a sustainable supply chain.
Kering MIL’s involvement will focus on a hands-on approach to accelerate the adoption of innovative and low-impact materials and processes in the collections of S|Style’s key designers, who will present a look created with sustainable fabrics or innovations. Each designer will explore solutions for the benefit of sustainable development: from upcycling, the technique of reworking an existing garment, to the use of fabrics certified according to international standards. From giving back activities in favor of the planet, to the use of recycled materials and the promotion of fair / ethical work that supports craftsmanship.
Pitti Immagine Uomo 104: space for emerging designers and brands
Lapo Cianchi, head of communication and special projects at Pitti Immagine and general secretary of the Pitti Discovery Foundation, comments: “Thanks to a skilful curatorship, in the last three years S/Style has brought to the attention of the media and buyers of Pitti Uomo about forty young designers and emerging brands, each with an original style and a truly fresh approach to the themes that are most dear to the new generations”.
