Macfrut 2023 edition: focus on sustainable cultivation
Expo Doha 2023, the universal specialist exhibition dedicated to horticulture promoted by the Bureau International des Expositions, will be held in Doha, Qatar, from 2 October 2023 to 28 March 2024. “Green Desert, Better Environment” will be the leitmotif, with the objective of illustrating the techniques that allow the sustainable cultivation of trees and crops in arid lands and which are indispensable for tackling desertification problems worldwide. To date, 80 countries have confirmed their official participation, 3 million visitors are expected.
The presence of Paglione Italia in Doha 2023 represents an opportunity in the context of an important international showcase for the potential it can represent for our country.
Suffice it to say that the volume of trade with Italy, in 2002, reached 8 billion euros, equal to double the pre-Covid period. The objective will be precisely to focus more and more on the internationalization of Italian companies. Also in view of Expo 2030.
Macfrut 2023 edition: promoting the Italian system
“ICE Agency is also engaged on the occasion of Expo Doha 2023 – recalled the Director General of ICE, Roberto Luongo – for the promotion of the Italian system and national companies. The exhibition project that we are going to create will present the excellences that make Italian mechanization and technologies applied to agriculture known and appreciated throughout the world, for process, product and service innovations. Thanks to the activities that we will carry out within the official Pavilion, during the six months of Expo Doha 2023, Made in Italy will have an important all-round promotional showcase, not only therefore industrial solutions, but also research, training, science”.
In addition to being a great showcase for Italy in the world, Expo Doha represents a great opportunity for companies in the sector. Just think, as underlined by the president of Macfrut, Renzo Piraccini, only of the area of the Persian Gulf in which 70% of fruit and vegetables is imported. In this area there are great prospects for our country”.
