The growth compared to 2022 was largely determined by the entry of foreign buyers (+20%) from 143 countries, which represented a third of the total accredited operators. Of these, over a thousand top buyers were selected and hosted by Veronafiere and ICE-Agenzia.
In the top five of origins, the United States detaches Germany. The United Kingdom remains third, while China returns to fourth position, overtaking Canada.
Against a general growth of the European market, we also note the return to the 55th Vinitaly edition of operators from all non-EU markets: Asia, more than doubled (+116%) driven by the return of the Chinese who are over 1000 attendances, and Japan (+143%).
The Americas mark a +38% with exploits from the USA (+45%) and Brazil (+46%), as well as further consolidation from Canada (+19%). Even Australia in triple digits, at +130%.
“Vinitaly and the City” also did well, this year the Fuorisalone returned to the organizational sphere of the Verona trade fair. 55th edition Vinitaly, an appointment that recorded over 45 thousand tastings (+50% on 2022) by winelovers in the historic center of the Venetian city.

Federico Bricolo, president of Veronafiere underlined his satisfaction with the response received by the event from companies and territories. A fundamental asset given that “The goal is to build a permanent and coordinated promotional platform with institutional partners capable of attracting incoming investments in Italy on the one hand, and Italian products abroad on the other with a roots of Veronafiere – after Brazil and China – in the United States, Japan, South Korea and the Far East”.
With regard to incoming from abroad, the investments made have given a first concrete result in this 55th Vinitaly edition  https://www.vinitaly.com, as recalled by the CEO of Veronafiere, Maurizio Danese. “A supply-demand matching that worked, as also demonstrated by the more than 11,000 appointments scheduled between exhibitors and buyers on the Vinitaly plus platform, in addition to those set up directly between companies and buyers”.
A journey that has begun but certainly not finished, concluded Danese. In fact, this event will always be the carrier of Made in Italy, both here and abroad. Provided we “think in terms of the development of the sector and its businesses, and this is what we are trying to do”.
