From 14 to 16 April (VIP preview on 13 April) at Allianz MiCo in Milan Miart 2023 returns, the international modern and contemporary art fair, organized by Fiera Milano and directed for the third year by Nicola Ricciardi.
With 169 participating galleries (double-digit increase compared to 2022), from 27 countries, this 27th edition reaffirms its internationality with almost 40% more exhibitors based abroad.
This year’s title and keyword will be “Crescendo”, still taking music as inspiration. In fact, the term in musical language indicates the gradual increase in intensity of the sound, but which in relation to the fair also wants to underline the progressive growth in participation and audience recorded in the last two years and the desire to continue on this trajectory beyond 2023 .

Miart 2023: the involvement of Milan

Always in relation to the idea of “crescendo”, the contents of this edition for the first time extend beyond their traditional borders to graft into other places in the city.
It starts on Saturday 15 April from Triennale Milano which will host the series of conversations “miart LIVE at Triennale Milano”.
The collaboration between Miart 2023 and Triennale Milano is also underlined by the “FOG – Triennale Milano Performing Arts” review, which will present the two Italian premieres “How a Falling Star Lit Up The Purple Sky” by Jeremy Nedd, international choreographer and performer, and Impilo Mapantsula, a global network specialized in energy-charged dance, and “Le sacre du printemps”, a choreographic research by Dewey Dell inspired by Igor Stravinskij’s masterpiece.
The synergy with the Nicola Trussardi Foundation is also significant, which this year has chosen to start the celebrations for its first 20 years as a nomadic museum right inside the pavilions of the fair. Here on April 13 Beatrice Trussardi and Massimiliano Gioni will involve the public present in the cutting of a cake given by Maurizio Cattelan.

The alliance with Milan Art Week

Miart 2023 https://www.miart.it/ also stands as a promoter and producer of culture, capable of creating synergy between the art system, citizens and the territory.
This is underlined by the new edition of Milan Art Week (11 – 16 April), a widespread event coordinated by the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Milan, which puts the main public institutions and private foundations of the city dedicated to modern and contemporary art online, with a program of exhibitions and activities.
On the occasion of the widespread event, some exhibitions of the season will be inaugurated in important locations in the city.
Collecting is also growing around Miart 2023. In particular the international one also thanks to ICE – Agency for the promotion abroad and the internationalization of Italian companies which supports the incoming of a selection of international collectors.
