The 64th Fiera dei Librai Bergamo will take place from 21 April to 1 May, a traditional appointment with the event dedicated to the oldest sector in Italy.
Organized by Promozioni Confesercenti, the Italian Booksellers Syndicate and by the independent bookshops belonging to Li.Ber – Associazione Librai Bergamaschi, this edition marks the return of the event to the historic Centro Piacentiniano in Bergamo.
Thanks to a structure with transparent walls, the event will dialogue with the new structure of a recently renovated Sentierone, the heart of the city which, for a few days, will be transformed into a large bookshop.
A space ready to welcome the authors with their presentations, debates, dialogues and, above all, the literary passions of the people of Bergamo who have always animated the historic Booksellers’ Fair. Hence also the pay off that accompanies the 64th Bergamo Booksellers Fair – “Reading returns to the Center” – while in the visual a vortex of books soars in flight recalled from the city centre.
Five thematic areas to meet everyone’s needs: Fiction, Local publishing, Children and teenagers, Manuals, Non-fiction.
Capitals of Culture 2023
An edition made even more special by the year of Bergamo Brescia Capital of Culture 2023 which made it possible to activate a first historic collaboration between the Bergamo Booksellers Fair and Librixia – Brescia Book Fair.
In fact, on Sunday 23 April at 18.30 there will be “BG vs BS – Literally a literary derby”, an Open Mic Book Version that will allow 6 emerging writers from Bergamo and Brescia to present their work in 15 minutes in a manner similar to that of stand up comedy or musical battles.
The 64th Bergamo Booksellers Fair fieradeilibrai.it is an event that, in the year of the Capital of Culture, turns the spotlight on the new literary pens of the two territories.
Not only that, a corner dedicated to the literary production of the two provinces will be set up in the exhibition space with texts by local authors.
Meetings with the authors
About 50 meetings with the authors and a varied program which, alongside the new releases of the national publishing scene, offers stories of the territory and moments of sharing suitable for all ages.
Five venues for meetings. In addition to the Reading Room set up inside the 64th Bergamo Booksellers Fair, in fact, meetings with the author will be held in the Auditorium in Piazza Libertà, at the Cultural Center
