K.EY 2023 – The Energy Transition Expo is the first autonomous edition of the event organized by the Italian Exhibition Group and scheduled at the Rimini fair from 22 to 24 March. It picks up the baton of Key Energy proposing itself with a new format, positioning and timing. It represents a reference event not only for Italy, but also for Africa and the Mediterranean basin as regards the energy transition.
A complete showcase of technology, integrated solutions and services capable of guiding the energy transition towards a carbon-neutral economy, but not only. In fact, it also wants to be the cultural, scientific and technical reference hub and community catalyst, capable of connecting and making stakeholders, players and protagonists of the world of renewables communicate with each other.
Interest in innovation
Under the dome of the fairgrounds, at the main entrance from the South Hall, K.EY 2023 opens with the Innovation Square, a physical and virtual exhibition space. Here is the Start-up & Scale-up Innovation Area, where thirty Italian and international green start-ups and scale-ups will offer products or services related to the energy transition. An important opportunity to present new technologies and the most innovative ideas.
The call has garnered numerous subscriptions and expressions of interest from over 60 start-ups and SMEs engaged in the sector. A success that prompted the organizing body to expand the number of spaces available at the fair up to 30, compared to the 20 initially planned.
An “event-incubator”
With the Start-up & Scale-up Innovation Area, K.EY 2023 – The Energy Transition Expo confirms its role as incubator, facilitator and reference platform for young companies and national and international green innovators. A location to meet companies and investors and develop new sustainable projects and businesses. As well as the opportunity to launch your own brand within the reference event for the world of renewable energies and energy efficiency in the Mediterranean basin.
Organized by I.E.G and in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency, the space has ART-ER (Attractivity Research Territory), the Emilia-Romagna Consortium, as its main partner.
Of the 30 selected start-ups, 26 are Italian and 4 foreign: two from France, one from the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
Among the sectors most represented at K.EY 2023 www.keyenergy.it we should mention photovoltaic, storage and solar. This is followed by technologies for wind, hydrogen, energy efficiency, e-Mobility and IOT – digitalisation, with platforms to unite renewable energy communities. There are manufacturers of airborne wind turbines (AWE) for off-grid populations; manufacturers of long-lasting, sustainable and recyclable stationary batteries; developers of thermal batteries for the recovery of waste heat, as well as companies engaged in the internet of things sector, in consulting and supporting organizations for the decarbonisation of their processes.
