From 18 to 23 April, at Fiera Milano Rho, the 61th Salone del Mobile Milano will take place, which will bring the “beautiful” and “well done” back to a stage of international importance.
An international point of reference for the furniture and design sector, the event regains its usual position in the calendar.
The news of the 2023 edition
In recent difficult and complex years, reflections, research and questions on the future of trade fairs have been on the agenda. Reflections that led to a revision of the exhibition format of the 61st Salone del Mobile Milano with the aim of being able to continue to generate value for the entire design community.
Hence the three novelties of this edition, starting from the single exhibition level, with the exhibitors of the upper pavilions (8-12, 16-20) relocated to the lower ones to simplify, improve and enhance the fruition and experience of visit.
Hence the new layout of Euroluce, which, from a centric stand, will bring man and the use of the event back to the centre. And this thanks to a hyper-usable and better connected circular route.
Finally, the cultural component will be integrated into the spaces of the biennale of light through interdisciplinary and experiential contents, which will range from architecture to art with exhibitions, talks, workshops, site-specific installations.
“One of the characteristics of the 61st Salone del Mobile Milan https://www.salonemilano.it/it is its ability to evolve to respond to the most urgent contemporary challenges. We did it in 2021 by inventing Supersalone, the first global event after the very tough months of the pandemic, with the edition of last June, when we returned to the traditional format by accepting the challenge of sustainability, and we continue to do so with the 2023 edition. After three years, it was unthinkable to return to April, our traditional position on the calendar, as if nothing had happened”, as the president Maria Porro underlined during the press presentation.
31st appointment with Euroluce
The events – the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, the International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition, Workplace3.0, S.Project, Euroluce, the SaloneSatellite – will bring together a total of 1,962 exhibitors, of which over 550 young talents under 35 and 27 schools of design.
The April edition of the Euroluce light biennial will be held at the 61st Salone del Mobile Milano, in pavilions 9-11 and 13-15, now in its 31st appointment. Renewed in the exhibition layout, redesigned by the Lombardini22 studio, the space aims to guarantee a better connection between the four pavilions, simplifying the visit itinerary. “The city of Lights” will be the concept and thematic leitmotif of the biennial.
Over 550 will be the protagonists of the 24th SaloneSatellite, which will find its new location within the pavilions of Euroluce (13-15). Theme 2023 “Design Schools – Universities / BUILDING THE (IM)POSSIBLE. Process, Progress, Practice”.
Environmental, economic and social responsibility will also be a priority in the 2023 edition of the Salone del Mobile.Milano, which has embarked on the path that will lead it, at the end of the event, to achieve ISO 20121 certification for the sustainable management of the event.
