At 2023 Bit edition – Your Travel Exhibition, at the Allianz MiCo in Milan from Sunday 12 to Tuesday 14 February, there will be many proposals for the many expected visitors.
The international tourism fair in Italy represents an important marketplace in support of the tourism industry in Italy and in the world.
According to the UNWTO Barometer for January, the number of international tourists doubled in 2022 and the current one is expected to return to pre-pandemic levels. And Europe is confirmed as one of the favorite destinations for world travelers and has in fact already reached almost 80% of pre-pandemic levels, welcoming 585 million arrivals in 2022.
In this scenario, Italy also stands out for its positive trend. The Bank of Italy notes that in the first 9 months of the year, our country welcomed around 56 million travelers from abroad, +94% vs 2021, reducing the gap compared to the pre-pandemic figure to 26%.

2023 Bit edition: an Italy on a human scale

A desire that in this 2023 edition both professional operators and travelers will be able to satisfy in a virtual tour of the world. And in the name of sustainable, conscious and slow experiences, and starting from Italy.
A holiday spent learning how to make honey with a real beekeeper, or participating in the olive harvest and taking home a bottle with your name and surname on it. Or discovering the properties of rare flowers and plants in historic gardens. Here are just some of the proposals for “slow tourism” from North to South.

2023 Bit edition: sustainable and responsible travel

Operators and travelers who want to cross borders will find in the Leisure area a variety of international proposals for all distances and for all types of experiences.
In addition to the many short, medium and long-haul offers, travelers who are more attentive to environmentally friendly tourism and at the same time ethically and socially fair for local communities will be able to take advantage of the CO2 emissions measurement process deriving from all phases of the life cycle of the event, through LCA methodology (Life-cycle Assessment). The objective is to undertake targeted efficiency actions and reduce the environmental impacts generated.
The initiative, which is part of the group’s broader Sustainability Plan, confirms Fiera Milano’s commitment to making a real contribution to the decarbonisation process of events, in line with the objectives of the global Net Carbon Zero Events initiative.

2023 Bit edition: the players in the supply chain are back

The Tourism Collection represents the desire to relaunch the sector, with the arrival or reconfirmation of many big names among the major players in the supply chain.
The presence of carriers is significant, among which the debut, if not the return with a new look, of ITA Airways stands out, presenting the new connections. International companies such as Air Europa, Air India, Eva Air or Fly Dubai are also making a comeback. Trenitalia was also present, with its network of high-speed lines considered among the best in the world, and Trenord engaged in a process of strong renewal of regional transport in Lombardy.
At 2023 Bit edition https://bit.fieramilano.it/ the portfolio of Tour Operators is also very rich which, as usual, combines the big names with the most interesting niche realities.
In the hôtellerie, the names of the main hotel chains stand out.
In addition to the Leisure part, the best of business travel will be presented in the dedicated MICE Village area, while the BeTech area will present the proposals for the digital transition of some of the most interesting and dynamic companies in the sector.
