Inaugurated on Saturday 4 February at Fieramilano Rho and ending on Monday 6, Mido 2023 edition. An edition that returned to pre-Covid trends with companies and buyers arriving at the Milan exhibition center from all over the world to represent the entire eyewear sector supply chain.
While waiting for a final balance of this edition, on 6 February the stands of the pavilions involved were filled with opticians, expert buyers and sector enthusiasts to discover the new products and touch the most innovative and even curious products first-hand.

Today, upon entering one of the pavilions, one immediately finds oneself immersed in an atmosphere of great enthusiasm in discovering the many brands present, one breathes a unique atmosphere and one can meet internationally renowned personalities”.

The first Cse Award – Certified Sustainable Eyewear

Also on Sunday 6 February in the square of the Fashion District, the presentation of the prizes that Mido 2023 edition https://www.mido.com/ assigns every year to optical centers, to the most sustainable stand took place. This year, the Cse Award – Certified Sustainable Eyewear has been added to these awards, awarded to the most virtuous companies in the field of sustainability in the eyewear sector at an international level.
The expert panel of the edition of the award, conceived by the event in collaboration with Anfao and Certottica, evaluated the candidate products using various criteria. How their environmental and social impact, considering the entire life cycle of the product and looking at recycling of materials, reduction of consumption in production and distribution processes, enhancement of the supply chain, elimination of waste, degree of recyclability, use of renewable energies , and so on.

Mido 2023 edition: the trends for 2024

Again on 6 February, the Otticlub also gave space to trends, with the presentation of the research commissioned by the organizers to WGSN on the latest product trends for SS 2024.
According to the report, next season there will be room for a geometric reinterpretation that aims at functionality, elaborate aesthetics, unique and limited editions, unconventional details, nuances inspired by the world of nature. With a focus on sustainability and inclusiveness.
