
While waiting for more complete data on the 92nd edition, the organizers of Pitti Immagine Filati 2023, from 25 to 27 January in the Fortezza da Basso in Florence, have released the first numbers relating to the event.
Numbers at (almost) pre-Covid levels
Over 2,850 buyers registered at the show, of which over 1,100 from abroad.
As for buyers, it was estimated that 3,000 admissions would be reached on the final day of January 27, a number now close to pre-Covid levels. Of these, between 1,130 and 1,150 come from abroad, led by France, the UK, Germany, the USA, Switzerland, Spain, Turkey, the Netherlands, Denmark and Portugal.
At Pitti Immagine Filati 2023 also Asian buyers, as already happened for the shows dedicated to men and children, return to attend European fairs.
While not reaching the numbers of 2019-early 2020, it should however be emphasized that the quality is high from Japan, South Korea, Mainland China and Hong-Kong and Mongolia. Europe is fully represented, from the Atlantic and southern areas to the eastern and northern ones.
More motivated buyers
Data that make it possible to give a more than positive judgment of this 2023 review, which presented the yarn collections for the 2024 spring-summer season designed and produced by the best Italian and international spinning mills.
“The 105 exhibitors worked on average at a very high pace right from the early morning – as underlined by Raffaello Napoleone, managing director of Pitti Immagine – and, in the first comments of some of them, not only the high turnout of buyers is underlined, but also their motivation and importance”.
Pitti Immagine Filati 2023 is visited, among others, by the product managers of the best international knitwear factories, by the style offices of the luxury groups and by all the main fashion houses, by the style managers of interior and home design companies and by other creative professionals industrial.
“A fair different from the others, since the very high technical and manufacturing contents are combined with the overall ability to evoke and also represent the glamor of fashion – and a great contribution in this sense comes from Spazio Ricerca – continued the managing director – . It is a moment of sharing for operators in the sector, a moment of discussion and mutual drive towards innovation, in all the components that lead to the product”.

Starting from the CustomEasy area, dedicated to customization in the world of luxury knitwear. Interest in the project “Knitting the future: exploring new areas” by Dyloan and the new theme “Feel the People” of the competition signed Feel The Yarn.
“Thumbs up” also for the installation of The Woolmark Company and Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli, which presented the innovative technical uniforms of the sailing team. Up to the immersive experience Changing RooTs proposed by Polimoda.
Finally, as always, Vintage Selection was also highly appreciated, a show within a show and added value for operators arriving at the Fortezza da Basso.
