
The 18th edition of Model Expo Italy 2023 will take place from 4 to 5 March at Veronafiere. Many new features this year, thanks also to the collaboration with local and national associations dedicated to model making and play in all its forms.
A transversal passion
Model Expo Italy 2023, which covers over 60,000 m2, is divided into various thematic sections. In addition to the historic pavilions reserved for static modeling, model railways, Elettroexpo and the vintage market, the offer is expanded with the Brick Arena, the Play District and the new space dedicated to creativity and the know-how of doing.
Confirmed the heart of the event with the 7 areas dedicated to modeling, where the protagonist will be the “Big Tank”. In this area, thanks to the passion and work of the DLF Modeling and History Association of Pontassieve (FI), the public will be able to watch the show of the transatlantic Andrea Doria being launched. The galleons will be presented with a renewed appearance and there will also be two current units of the Italian Navy, the Caio Duilio in 1:50 scale and the aircraft carrier Giuseppe Garibaldi in 1:72 scale.
During Model Expo Italy 2023, the IPMS Association organizes some workshops for children from 6 to 15 years in the field of static modeling. On Saturday and Sunday, a competition only for IPMS members will focus on the miniature of the Frecce Tricolori aircraft.
And again model railways with ever more articulated dioramas of trains ranging from night to day, from maritime stations to those in the high mountains; the aviary that houses the acrobatics of radio-controlled planes and helicopters and the car tracks of many disciplines, from drift to slots.
The news for 2023
Among the other novelties of Model Expo Italy 2023 https://www.modelexpoitaly.it/, given the proximity to the Carnival, the historical-cultural parade of costumes and masks that represent the heritage of the national territories, organized by the National Coordination Center for Italian Masks which sees among its duties that of collecting, protecting and enhancing the exhaustive list of Italian masks and costumes.
Play District also has a new look, dedicated to all games, from board games to comics and cosplay. The space is characterized by a new image designed by the illustrator Ilaria Sposetti.
Character and Prop Designer of “Tear Along the Edges”, a popular cartoon series made in Netflix written and directed by Zerocalcare, will be among the guests on the Play District stage.
The main Italian cosplayer associations were also present.
