Pitti Immagine Filati 92, the international reference fair for the world of yarns and knitwear, returned to the Fortezza Da Basso in Florence from 25 to 27 January.
During the Florentine appointment, the focus will concern the presentation of the collections of the main Italian and international spinning mills. Tomorrow’s trends will also be discussed, told in the new Spazio Ricerca curated by Angelo Figus and Nicola Miller, and new proposals in the special areas Fashion at Work, Knitclub and CustomEasy.
On stage all the yarn trends for spring/summer 2024, for a total of over 100 companies that confirmed their presence at the show.
Also in this edition of Pitti Immagine Filati 92 the Italian Government and ICE, Agency for the promotion abroad and the internationalization of Italian companies, are promoting the role of Florence in the internationalization strategy of Italian fashion through support for the 2023 winter shows in Pitti Image.
The protagonists will be the 105 exhibitors, of which 13 arriving from Japan, UK, China, Germany, Romania, Peru, Turkey. More precisely: 74 belonging to the Yarn section; _ 15 in the Fashion at Work section; 10 at KnitClub; and 6 at CustomEasy.
Pitti Immagine Filati 92: projects and participations
Within the Fashion at Work section, D-house Laboratorio Urbano presents “Knitting the future: exploring new areas” in collaboration with The Woolmark Company and Suedwolle. The aim of the initiative is to investigate the application of wool and knitwear in various sectors by creating articles with the innovative Icevit yarn made up of merino wool by The Woolmark Company and with the Grilon polyamide yarn by Expotex, through the use of D house.
Now in its fourth edition, the CustomEasy project is staged on the lower floor of the Central Pavilion under the creative guidance of Maurizio Brocchetto and with the installation by Alessandro Moradei. Here the companies will have the opportunity to present their customization work applied to the world of luxury knitwear also through mannequins on display at their stand.
“Feel the People”
A special space at Pitti Immagine Filati 92 https://filati.pittimmagine.com/ will, as always, be dedicated to the competition dedicated to new talents in international knitwear. The contest is promoted by Feel the Yarn, a brand under which most of the initiatives of the Consorzio Promozione Filati – CPF fall.
Theme of the 2023 edition “Feel the People”. Also in this fourteenth edition of the contest, whoever creates the best outfits will get a prize: the creation of a capsule collection made mainly in knitwear for FW 24/25 made in collaboration with the Feel the Yarn spinning mills and with careful consultancy and distribution in collaboration with the Camera Showroom of Milan (CSM). For new designers and students, aged 22 to 35, who wish to participate, the deadline to register is January 10, 2023.
