Held from 27 to 30 November, the 62nd Mig di Longarone – International Gelato Exhibition sums up. An event that proved to be above expectations both in terms of participation and consensus. There were in fact around 10,000 visitors and over 3,000 sector operators from 37 countries.
This edition also focused on the themes that revolve around sustainability, takeaway and delivery, the new players in the sector, the seasonal adjustment of the product.
Among the novelties of this year, with a view to an increasingly accentuated internationalization of the event, increasingly present in the event dedicated to artisan gelato, the “GELATOn the road” project. It is a proposal from the first European itinerary dedicated to a food, namely ice cream.

A sector worth billions

Mig di Longarone is therefore reconfirmed as the reference exhibition for artisan ice cream and once again Longarone Fiere has become the ideal square for bringing together the operators of this sector. A sector that is worth almost one billion euros for Italy alone (out of the 2 billion of the ice cream business in general according to the latest Mestre Cgia data). The feedback recorded by the operating companies was also excellent, such as those relating to the data on visitors who attended the stands during the four days.
“Indicative data, which push us to continue on the path of product promotion and protection of the craftsmen who have been carrying on this great tradition of Made in Italy and Made in Belluno for decades”, as recalled by Roberto Padrin, president of the Province of Belluno and mayor of Longarone.

We are already thinking about next year

For Dario Olivier, coordinator of the fair, this edition has surprised many for its quality and quantity. Both for the products and equipment on display and for visiting operators.
“Mig di Longarone https://www.mostradelgelato.com/ was marked by recovery. The world of ice cream met in Longarone for the 62nd time and we had visitors from all over Europe. In particular arriving from Germany and Austria. Longarone has always taken special care of the entire ice cream supply chain: ice cream manufacturers and the general public, who had access to the pavilion on Sunday. He also had the opportunity to actively collaborate in the success of the event. Great excitement at the fair where various issues related to the world of eco-sustainability were addressed.
Together with the companies we have given concrete answers on the subject of environmental sustainability, energy saving and economic savings. After the positive feedback received in these four days of Mig di Longarone we are convinced that we can look at Mig 2023 with a very positive attitude”.
Expectations also supported by the various exhibiting companies who have already expressed their willingness to return next year. Some have already confirmed until 2024.
