Spices&Herbs Global Expo at the Rimini Expo Center from 3 to 5 May, will return again next year as part of Macfrut 2023. The first event in Europe dedicated to the world of spices, medicinal and aromatic herbs represents a specialized meeting point for producers, technicians , researchers, traders and processors.
A “fair within the fair” with a dedicated exhibition area, operators from all over the world, technical workshops, business meetings with foreign buyers. The salon is coordinated by the Italian Federation of Medicinal Plant Producers, in collaboration with Erboristeria Domani and Cannamela.
Spices&Herbs Global Expo: sustainability, biodiversity and circular economy
Andrea Primavera, president of Fippo underlined: “Medicinal, aromatic plants and spices are increasingly forming an inseparable pair with key words such as health, well-being, advanced nutrition. Not only that: sustainability, green chemistry, biodiversity, circular economy are also concepts that permeate the supply chain of these agricultural productions”.
Primavera also recalled how the markets relating to herbal medicines alone will grow at a rate of between 38% and 53% in the next 5 years, depending on the regions of the world. The current global crisis, made up of socio-political tensions, climate change, reduced access to energy resources, could push the need for low environmental impact products, both for health and well-being, and for technological uses, such as rule has been observed in the past during other crises.
Spices&Herbs Global Expo: knowing the future challenges
Producing in a sustainable way, guaranteeing product quality and safety, supplying ever new and different industrial segments and above all safeguarding biodiversity and the integrity of the production environments and the populations that derive income from them. These are the many challenges that this sector poses. And they will be the main themes addressed in the second edition of the next show.
Topics at the center of a series of meetings dedicated, for example, to the sustainable production of spices and medicinal plants, the protection of biodiversity, the safeguarding of the rights of the holders of traditional knowledge.
Many international experts among the speakers who will take stock of the situation and will open a debate that leads to the advancement of knowledge that every sector needs.
Because, as Primavera once again declared: “It is essential that the world of medicinal plants, spices, aromas and perfumes find its own space to gather, tell and tell about itself, create, as far as possible, a system and face the challenges that the future places us. Fippo believes that Italy, a country of agricultural and technological excellence, and in particular Spices & Herbs Global Expo https://www.macfrut.com/c/131/spices_herbs_global_expo_, are the right places to make these moments come true”.
