
South American trip for 40th Macfrut, which will take place at Rimini Expo Center from 3 to 5 May. After Ryad, which saw the participation of over 300 journalists and operators from all over the world, the international fruit and vegetable fair was in fact presented in Peru and Chile.
A very popular double event that confirmed the appeal of the Rimini event, which will see a large participation of operators and delegations arriving from these two countries, among the world’s leading producers of blueberry, the symbolic fruit of the next edition.
40th Macfrut: a much appreciated tour
The first event took place in Lima in the presence of the Italian ambassador Giancarlo Maria Curcio, together with about fifty operators, associations and the press. The meeting was organized in collaboration with Ice Lima, the association of exporters AGAP and the Promperù National Promotion Agency.
The second event took place in Santiago in the presence of the Italian ambassador Mauro Battocchi and about fifty operators and professional organizations from Chile. The day was organized by Ice Santiago, led by Alessandra Marcarino, with the support of Fedefrutta and Asoex.

The debut of International Blueberry Days
Among the various novelties of the 40th edition of the show there will in fact be the International Blueberry Days starring the blueberry.
Three days with the greatest international technical-scientific experts and the main global players. The event is coordinated by Bruno Mezzetti (Polytechnic University of Marche) together with Thomas Drahorad of NCX Drahorad.
Another novelty of the 40th Macfrut, the international exhibition of nurseries and varietal innovation. Specialized meeting point for nurserymen, breeders, producers, technicians and researchers in a sector that has become strategic for the development of modern fruit growing. Conferences, technical seminars and workshops will be organized with insights and updates on various topics. Coordinated by Stefano Lugli of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
Finally, Pianeta Rosso is dedicated to the tomato supply chain, a new format for meeting players, from seed companies to those responsible for modern distribution.
