Lucca Comics and Games: focus on fantasy illustration

The Carducci Pavilion is back in the 2022 edition and the great names of fantasy illustration are back in the Performance area, a stage to host the illustrators who have made the world of gaming and its translations on other media iconic.
Among the artists who will animate the area this year, Philipp Ulrich, cover artist of the Dragonlance books by Tracy Hickman and Margaret Weis, guest of Fanucci Editore. Also for Fanucci there will be Tahereh Mafi, bestselling author of the Shatter Me series.

With its over 10,000 square meters, the Carducci Pavilion will also host 150 exhibitors from the Games world, including board games, role-playing games, miniatures, with the return of Miniature Island, and collectible cards.

Lucca Comics and Games: appointments for Cosplay fans

For all Cosplay fans, this year’s program will be very engaging as always. Starting with the two national gatherings: “Spiderman 60” on Saturday 29 October, with the special participation of John Romita Jr., and “Lady Oscar 50th Anniversary”, which will take place on 30 October, both in the Giardino degli Osservanti.
There will also be the traditional ECG European Cosplay Gathering competitions and the Lucca Cosplay Contest, both in the San Francesco Auditorium.

Lucca Comics and Games: digital creativity

The cultural proposal of the videogame area is part of a unique project this year, called R.E.C. (Relevant Electronic Content) in collaboration with the most important players in the sector. The aim of the initiative is to promote meetings between fans with developers, creatives, illustrators, concept designers, professionals from the gaming world for in-depth information and to observe the “behind the scenes” of the gaming sector.
In this context, not only the debates with the guests are inserted, but also majors such as Riot Games which will return to Lucca Comics and Games https://www.luccacomicsandgames.com/it/ in style, once again choosing the Former Comics Museum. To celebrate his presence in Lucca, Riot Games commissioned comic book artist Giovanni Timpano to create an artwork dedicated to its most iconic characters immersed within Lucca itself.
