The final stage of the national tour of Coca-Cola PizzaVillage @ Home will take place in Milan from 17 to 20 November. The event offers a new way to taste and compare at home, with friends and relatives, the pizzas of the best pizza chefs in Italy. And for the second consecutive year Coca-Cola confirms its participation as title sponsor.
This year we will celebrate the primacy of the Lombardy region which, according to a study by the National Craft Confederation of small and medium enterprises, is unexpectedly the capital of pizza with 17,660 points of sale, 14.5% of the total
national, with an increase of + 24.6% and 3,489 new businesses.
Coca-Cola Pizza: according to the data, delivery wins
A surprising result explained by Gabriele Rotini of Cna: “The data of the study, which covers the two-year period 2020-2021, indicate that the northern regions are growing compared to those of southern Italy. The lockdown characterized the breaking of common habits: you could not go out to go to the pizzeria, but take-away was used. The administrations that reacted first, authorizing home deliveries with the rules related to food safety, obtained the results. These include Veneto, Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna. While in the Center-South, where bureaucracy is slower, the administrations have not promptly supported businesses in Campania, Lazio (-34.8%), Abruzzo (-28.4%), Sicily (-14.8% ) and Umbria (-13%) “.
A larger margin
Another figure that emerges from the data for Coca-Cola Pizza is that linked to the profit gap for commercial establishments. In fact, pizza in the Center-South fluctuates in a range between 5 and 7 euros. Instead in the North it sells between 12 and 15 euros. The increase in raw materials and energy would thus have reduced the margins of the businesses that sell pizza in the South. While in the northern regions the greater margin has acted as a defensive shield for entrepreneurs.
In addition, Lombardy, with its numerical growth, also recorded another absolute value with the largest number of takeaway pizzerias: 3,907 points of sale.

The protagonists of the stage in Milan will be the top players Errico Porzio (pizzeria Errico Porzio), Antonio Sorrentino and Davide Civitiello (Rossopomodoro) and Fabio Cristiano (Antica Pizzeria da Gennaro), Antonio Falco (L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele), the world champion of pizza, contemporary category, Vincenzo Capuano (Pizzeria Vincenzo Capuano), Giuseppe Crapetti (Fermento) and the brothers Toto and Gino Sorbillo (Gino and Toto Sorbillo).
