The 46th edition of the international exhibition dedicated to hotels and restaurants focuses on innovation and digitization, food and architecture. All under the inevitable “hat” of sustainability, with an award entirely dedicated to this theme. While the best startups that will compete for the Hotel Startup Award.
Hotel 2022: an award for sustainable hospitality
Monday 17 October will be dedicated to the first of the four focus themes, namely Innovation. Among the highlights of the day, in addition to the inauguration ceremony, the awarding of the Sustainability Award on the Hotel Connects Stage, the stage between the aisles.
Four categories are competing: Sustainable Technology, Circular Design, Sustainable Food & Drinks, and Sustainable Tourism Pioneers powered by IDM. Reserved for exhibitors, the first three are dedicated, respectively, to products and services that bring technological innovation, which demonstrate a sustainable global design and which, according to the principles of the “closed cycle”, are made with recycled materials and / o recyclable and to foods or products of new or different conception, guided by sustainability criteria along the entire production chain. The fourth theme of Hotel 2022 www.fieramesse.com/hotel is instead designed for visitors. In particular, to businesses in the tourism sector able to demonstrate a sustainable global orientation in their business and able to stand out thanks to special green solutions in their offers or services.

Among the most current challenges in the sector, expensive bills, unavailable staff, too much bureaucracy, ideas to improve the sustainability of their accommodation facilities.
The Future Hub of Hotel 2022 is ready to welcome – on Monday 17 and Tuesday 18 October – the best startups who will not only compete to win the Hotel Startup Award, but will present themselves as inspiration for those looking for concrete solutions.
For example, energy management systems that aim to monitor, optimize and reduce energy consumption with precision, guaranteeing savings of 20% on electricity costs and reducing the use of fossil fuels. Or the digital platforms to find qualified and suitable personnel in an easy, fast and intuitive way.
