As part of agriculture, Veronafiere officially presented the new Fieragricola Tech, dedicated to innovation and digital technologies, from 1 to 2 February 2023. In particular, in even years, the event will be part of Fieragricola, an exhibition international biennial of the primary sector.
“This novelty arises from agriculture’s need to introduce new technologies and digital innovations with the aim of responding to the needs of quality, food safety, but also economic, social and environmental sustainability, protection from climate and environmental risks, use rationalization of water resources – explained the president of Veronafiere, Federico Bricolo during the presentation -. Agriculture is called to face the ambitious challenges of ecological transition, production intensification, waste reduction and technologies, even more so if shared on platforms capable of communicating, can be an effective response “.
What will we talk about
There are three macro areas in which Fieragricola Tech will be divided.
Robotics and digital, renewable energy, solutions and technologies for water management and saving: these are the issues of priority interest for agricultural businesses and supply chains in the sector, as the head of the Agritech area, Sara Quotti Tubi, recalled.
Arguments that should be read in light of the events linked to the climate crisis, the drought that hit the Northern Hemisphere in recent months and the ongoing speculations on energy prices and agricultural commodities, partly linked to the war in Ukraine.
At Fieragricola Tech: investments in technology are growing
In constant growth, investments in Agriculture 4.0 reached 1.6 billion in Italy in 2021, + 23% on the previous year. A sign, according to Chiara Corbo, director of the Smart AgriFood Observatory of the Politecnico di Milano, that the digital innovation market in agriculture will continue to show a positive trend.
In particular, with reference to precision irrigation in agriculture, “investments will grow at an annual rate of 8.6% over the next 5 years. And this thanks to support policies and the need to manage the resource more rationally “.
At Fieragricola Tech https://www.fieragricola.it agrisolare and agrivoltaico also represent an opportunity for a diversification of income in agriculture. Particularly in this phase in which energy costs have increased significantly. Just think of the + 164% of electricity compared to September 2021 and + 535% of the price of natural gas. On the plate, to support the spread of agricultural and agricultural systems, the NRR has put 1.5 billion for the agricultural park and 1.10 billion for the agricultural sector.
In the world of bioenergy from renewable agricultural sources, biomethane also shows spaces for growth, illustrated as part of the presentation of Fieragricola Tech by Roberto Murano.
