We are satisfied with the result achieved and the quality of the professionals who participated, both among exhibitors and among visitors. The presence of international buyers was also good, also thanks to the collaboration with ICE. Also this year the fair has been able to offer the best of the independent market in our sector, remaining faithful to its vocation as an avant-garde salon “.

MEDD By DaTE will talk about design and eyewear

This year DaTE 2022 edition will continue in Milan on October 17 with a special, non-commercial event open to all. This is MEDD By DaTE, or Milan Eyewear Design Day, dedicated not only to operators in the sector and the press. In fact, enthusiasts, designers, students will also be involved, giving life to a moment of exchange and reflection on design, with a focus on eyewear.
Experts were invited to discuss the different applications of design, from fashion to architecture, through accessories and technology. The event will be hosted by the ADI Design Museum in Milan, which welcomes all the objects that have received the Compasso d’Oro Award in history, which is awarded every year to the excellence of Italian design. Although, as recalled by Vitaloni, to date no eyewear has received the Compasso D’Oro. “Who knows if MEDD by DaTE is not a good omen for eyewear to become part of the Museum’s collection as well”.
The program of the event continuation of DaTE 2022 edition also includes an exhibition, in collaboration with the Eyewear Museum of Pieve di Cadore, which will host a selection of iconic eyewear that have “drawn” the history of the sector. The MEDD By DaTE award will instead be awarded to the most researched eyewear, selected by a jury of design and lifestyle experts from among the models exhibited in Florence, and to the most visionary optical center, chosen by the DaTE exhibitors.
