For the 60a Salone del Mobile.Milano, from 7 to 12 June, the wood-furniture sector is strong in 2021 surprisingly above expectations, with a total turnover that exceeds 49 billion euros, of which 18 are destined for ‘exports, over 290 thousand employees and 70,000 companies (representing respectively 7.7% and 15% of the national total) a trade balance of 8.2 billion euros and a production turnover increased in value by 14% on the 2019.
“Participation in the 60th edition of the 60ta Salone del Mobile.Milano is the best answer that the sector could give after the difficulties and uncertainties of the last 2 years which, unfortunately, do not seem to be over yet. 2021 marked a year above expectations for the wood-furniture sector, with production turnover of over 49 billion euros and + 14% on 2019, + 7.3% exports and +18, 4% of the Italian market “.
This is said by Claudio Feltrin, president of FederlegnoArredo, waiting for the Milanese event to start welcoming exhibitors and visitors.
Numbers that reward the quality of Italian products in terms of planning, design, materials research, durability and sustainability. But also of a newfound interest in the home environment. A push due to the emergency, which has “closed” the Italians at home and also to the building bonuses put in place by the government.
As said by many, Feltri also fears that the geopolitical situation, inflation, costs of raw materials risk, in the second half of 2022, to pull the handbrake on the results achieved in 2021.
“Despite this climate of uncertainty and concern, indeed perhaps precisely for this reason, our entrepreneurs have decided with determination to be present at the 60a Salone del Mobile.Milano to finally show their creations live after two years of stop and also open up to new hitherto unexplored markets “. FederlegnoArredo’s duty is to urge companies to do so and accompany them on the path of ecological transition with concrete actions. Such as the Decalogue on sustainability presented at the end of 2021 and which will be followed up at the assembly on 27 June with the presentation of the action plan.
