
21th Cibus will open in Parma from 3 to 6 May, the first international agri-food fair that will see the return of foreign buyers.
The 2022 edition, organized by Fiere di Parma and Federalimentare, will in fact see the easing of the pandemic emergency and the new rules in favor of fair participation by non-EU operators. Measures that will allow the arrival of buyers and traders from every continent, including overseas. About 60,000 professional visitors and about 3,000 exhibiting companies are expected.
An appointment awaited by a sector that sees growing demand for Italian agri-food around the world. Just look at the export statistics of the food industry: USA + 14.3%, China + 32.7%, South Korea + 30.7%, Chile + 50.5%, South Africa + 21.2%, Poland + 21.4%, Spain + 19.6%, Germany + 6.7%, France + 7.1%, (Federalimentare data processed on an Istat basis, January / November 2021).
The involvement of the city
The 21th Cibus will be inaugurated by Stefano Patuanelli, Minister of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies and by Manlio Di Stefano, Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs.
The Horeca the Hub area, the Cibus Innovation Corner with one hundred new products selected by a jury of experts and the Innovation Hub will be open at the fair, with the presence of the most innovative start-ups. There will also be dozens of conferences attended by representatives of industry, agriculture,
distribution and the political world.
There will also be a moment outside the salon with Cibus Off, which will be held in the center of Parma with tastings, exhibitions and debates. The appointment with the city will be inaugurated on May 3 at 6 pm with the varnish of the exhibition of artistic photographs “Art Save The Food”, curated by Claudio Composti and co-organized by Fiere di Parma and Mia Fair in the Monumental Complex of the Monastery of San Paul.
Attention to sustainability
21th Cibus www.cibus.it will put food back at the center of the social and economic debate, showing the scenarios and its role within society.
During its development, the event will reiterate the role of food in social and economic relations, aiming at a coherent and increasingly sustainable development model.
In fact, in this edition the attention to sustainability will be understood in all its many aspects: environmental, economic and social. Also protagonists are the Italian and international GI products for the promotion and enhancement of the territories of origin, the information set necessary to create value on the shelves and a start-up area with Italian and foreign companies as an incubator of innovative proposals.
There will be no lack of enhancement of the good practices of the agri-food industry to trigger a positive chain reaction along the entire supply chain.
Attention to sustainability will also be guaranteed through concrete actions. In fact, thanks to the Cibus Food Saving program, the volunteers of Banco Alimentare, at the end of the event, will recover the products that the exhibiting companies choose to save from waste, by donating them.
