From 13 to 15 May also Arte Fiera Bologna 2022 will reopen its doors to visitors in attendance. An event, the one that will take place at BolognaFiere, animated by a spirit of recovery and the desire to be able to find the operators and the public of art, after the decision to postpone the appointment at the end of January.
Third physical edition under the artistic direction of Simone Menegoi – that of 2021 has been replaced by the online cultural project Playlist – the event proposes the strengths of the formula developed in the two previous editions, aiming decisively at exhibition quality.
As pointed out by Menegoi, the event returns with a selection of galleries “without any qualitative yielding, and which is enriched with some interesting new entries”. There is no shortage of renewed settings and a more rational and efficient visit path.
Arte Fiera Bologna 2022 is consolidated with three curated sections by invitation, which flank the Main Section to deepen as many areas.
That is modern art and historicized postwar art (Focus), the painting of the new millennium (Painting XXI), photography and video (Photography and moving images).
The longest-running art fair in Italy
The targeted selection of the galleries present is combined with an approach to give space to individual poetics, with the invitation to exhibitors to present a limited number of artists.
As already happened in past editions, monographic proposals were encouraged, both for historicized artists and for the latest generations.
The monographic stands – 35, equal to about a quarter of the total – also constitute a significant presence in 2022.
Founded in 1974, the longest-running Italian art fair, now in its 45th edition, therefore remains faithful to its vocation: to be the reference event for Italian galleries and for Italian art of the 20th and 21st centuries.
As in 2020, Arte Fiera Bologna 2022 www.artefiera.it will occupy halls 15 and 18, dedicated, respectively, to contemporary and 20th century art. On the other hand, the access path is new, allowing you to freely choose which pavilion to visit first.
The stand set-up is also new, more elegant and refined, which outlines BolognaFiere’s choice to invest in the event to increase its quality, without passing the cost on the galleries.
