Expectation is growing for Progetto Fuoco edition 2022, an international reference for the sector, promoted by Piemmeti, from 4 to 7 May 2022 in Verona.
To date, more than 90% of producers have already confirmed their presence aiming to repeat the milestone of 60,000 visitors, including 15,000 foreigners, of the last edition. An organizational machine that goes forward safely, with all the necessary measures to contain the pandemic.
Raul Barbieri, general manager of Piemmeti confirmed: “The accessions are at pre-pandemic levels: the measures adopted at the Verona Fair and those adopted by the Governments allow us to carry out an event in complete safety. The entrance regulations require you to wear a mask and respect for social distancing. A buffer point will also be active at the Fair “.
Pellet heating grows
After the slowdown at the beginning of 2020, the sector returned to growth in the second half of the year, confirming the positive trend throughout 2021. In Italy, by 2020, according to data from the Italian Agroforestry Energy Association, there is a stock of 8.7 million biomass appliances and boilers.
According to AIEL, the consumption of solid biofuels in Italy for heating in the residential and commercial sector is fairly stable between 15 and 20 million tons, with a gradual replacement of firewood with pellets in progress. In fact, pellets went from 8% in 2010 to 22% in 2019, + 14%.
The variation regarding wood chips is limited and concerns medium and large boilers.
A path therefore oriented towards sustainability. Energy from biomass is renewable, economical and safe: to use it, technology and the desire to innovate are required. Progetto Fuoco edition 2022 https://www.progettofuoco.com will focus on these issues, and the response for now is considerable. Over 800 exhibitors and 60,000 visitors are expected. Most of the 15,000 foreign operators come from European destinations, while the ICE-ITA Agency is organizing a mission of 50 qualified operators from the main markets of Italian production.
Conferences and a hackathon
In addition to the exhibitions, there will also be conferences, workshops, practical demonstrations and training opportunities, distributed in 7 pavilions of the Verona Fair, on an exhibition area of 130 thousand square meters.
At the forefront, together with large companies, there will be young innovators and startups. The latter will be the protagonists of the second edition of “Give Me Fire – Progetto Fuoco European Startup Award”, a challenge promoted by the event and Blum. Numerous innovative Italian and European companies will compete with pitch strokes with which they will present their technological products related to the biomass heating sector.
During Progetto Fuoco edition 2022 there will also be a hackathon, during which young innovators will propose solutions to the problems posed by Palazzetti, Edilkamin and La Nordica-Extraflame.
