ArteFiera 2022 will reopen its doors from 21 to 23 January 2022 at BolognaFiere.
This is the third physical edition under the artistic direction of Simone Menegoi; in fact, the 2021 edition has been replaced by the online cultural Playlist project.
ArteFiera 2022 re-proposes the strengths of the formula developed in the two previous editions, aiming decisively at display quality.
As underlined by Menegoi, “After having managed the effects of the pandemic crisis in a responsible and transparent way, the demonstration returns with its head held high; with a selection of galleries without any qualitative yielding, and which is enriched with some interesting new entries; with renewed fittings; with a more rational and efficient visit path “.
The ArteFiera 2022 format is consolidated with three curated and by invitation sections, which flank the Main Section. The latter is a section dedicated to investigating as many important areas for the identity of the fair: modern and historicized post-war art (Focus), painting of the new millennium (Painting XXI), photography and video (Photography and Images in movement).
The targeted selection of galleries is combined with an approach that aims to give space to individual poetics, with the invitation to exhibitors to present a limited number of artists.
Furthermore, as in the past, monographic proposals have been encouraged, both for historicized artists and for the latest generations.
The monographic stands of ArteFiera 2022 – 35, about a quarter of the total – constitute a significant presence. 140 galleries will participate in Arte Fiera 2022.
As for the basic objectives of the 45th edition, the longest-running Italian art fair – it was founded in 1974 – remains faithful to its vocation. To be the reference event for Italian galleries and for Italian art of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. As in 2020,
The stand set-up is also new, more elegant and refined, which outlines BolognaFiere’s choice to invest in the event to increase its quality, without passing the cost on the galleries.
