Scheduled in Naples from 20 to 28 November, Navigare 2021 International Boat Show was officially inaugurated last Saturday at the Posillipo club and at the Luise pier in Mergellina. In other words, the two venues where the 3rd nautical event will take place, which offers enthusiasts, with free access, the opportunity to try the boats at sea for free before defining the purchase.
During the presentation of the event, however, Gennaro Amato, president of Afina – the Italian Nautical Industry Association that organizes the event, underlined the problem of the absence of moorings for pleasure boats.

“It is useless to imagine a production growth, which sees us as the leading region in Italy for the construction sector of pleasure boating between 5 and 15 meters, if we do not have moorings. Every 10 boats produced only 6 find a place in the Neapolitan marinas, the others forced to emigrate from a seaside city like ours “.

At the cutting of the inaugural ribbon of Navigare 2021 International Boat Show, the Councilor for Infrastructures and Public Works of the Municipality of Naples, Edoardo Cosenza, was also present, admitting the problem. “A problem not only for nautical productivity, but also for the economic induced it produces. Pleasure boating is a driving force for attracting rich, valuable tourism, a tourism that comes to spend in Naples. So, not only are there few places, but they are often of poor quality and there is little room even for luxury yachts and therefore a lot of intense work has to be done on this. ”

The 2021 event saw almost 100 boats in the water divided between the two venues of the event. Up to 10 meters in length at the Posillipo club, while from 12 meters to go up to Molo Luise in Mergellina.
The free access and free trials of the boats at sea have encouraged the participation of visitors who have viewed the many models on display, from yachts to motorboats, gozzo boats and inflatable boats.
