
After a year of absence in attendance, Mipel 120 returns to reopen its doors to the public. In fact, the 2021 edition, organized with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, the ICE Agency and the patronage of the Municipality of Milan, will take place in Fieramilano-Rho from Sunday 19 to Tuesday 21 September.
Ribbon cutting with a view to #RestartTogether, together with HoMi Fashion & Jewels Exhibition, Lineapelle, Micam Milano and Theonemilano Special featured by Micam Milano, scheduled for 19 at 9.30 in the presence of the Minister of Economic Development Giancarlo Giorgetti and the president of ICE Agency Carlo Maria Ferro.
60 years celebrated with the Olympic champions
This is an important edition because it celebrates the sixtieth anniversary of its birth and for the occasion renamed “Mipel Play” to recall the world of sport, which has given Italy great satisfaction in such a special year.
Just to underline the strong link between business, restart and get back into the game, an entire day dedicated to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic champions was organized on 20 September.
In fact, expected at the fair from 11 onwards, Gianmarco Tamberi, gold in the high jump, and Filippo Tortu, gold in the 4×100, who will be interviewed by the former Olympic champion Massimiliano Rosolino in the role of special correspondent of Mipel 120.
In the afternoon it will be the turn of the Paralympic athletes Andrea Liverani, bronze medal in 10-meter rifle shooting, and Alessia Berra, silver in the 100-meter butterfly S13, protagonists in the Talk Area.
The event also features a busy schedule of meeting and business moments between buyers and brands, promoting moments of discussion on some of the main themes of the fashion system such as sustainability, generational change, aggregation, digitalization.
This last theme will be at the center of the talk moderated by Giulio Finzi, general secretary of the Netcomm Consortium, on 19 September, “E-commerce: what they never told you”.
Among the novelties of Mipel 120, Mipel Lab, a trade fair format dedicated to the Italian production sourcing of leather goods, conceived by Assopellettieri in collaboration with Lineapelle which will debut during Lineapelle in pavilion 13 of Fiera Milano Rho.
Furthermore, the commitment of the fair and Assopellettieri to the Miss Mipel project continues, created to promote the uniqueness and value of Italian leather goods in the world.
A strategic project that will officially kick off during Mipel 120 when the first “call” will be launched for designers and fashion schools who will be invited to participate in a real competition by nominating their own version of Miss Mipel.
Subsequently, the initiative team will select the most valid projects and entrust their realization to expert leather craftsmen, then going to sponsor and promote them in an innovative way in a special global physical and virtual tour.
