Venditalia 2022 is preparing for the edition – Worldwide Vending Show, at Fiera Milano from 25 to 28 May 2022, will open from September to registrations to companies in the sector aiming for recovery after a complex period that also involved this sector.
The event will offer a complete cross-section of the technologies in the sector, also giving space to innovation made in Italy where Italian vending machine manufacturers are world leaders with about 70% of production exported.
The numbers of the sector
Venditalia 2022 represents a country like Italy that boasts the largest automatic food distribution network in Europe with 822 thousand distributors present.
A sector that in Italy generates a turnover – between the automatic market (automatic machines) and the portioned market (pod and capsule machines) – which in 2019 was worth a total of 2.3 billion euros and delivered 6 billion drinks.
According to Confida, the Italian Association of Automatic Distribution, last year vending lost a total of 30% in value vs 2019, with peaks of up to 60% of turnover during the lockdown period. To weigh was the sharp drop in consumption in places where vending is very strong: offices, factories, schools and universities.
Despite everything, even in this difficult period, the sector has not stopped. And this thanks to the focus on innovation, with the development of cashless and contactless payment systems, and security technologies and also continuing on the path towards sustainability of the supply chain.
