
Mido 2021 Digital Edition will take place from Saturday 5th to Monday 7th June. The international eyewear event is therefore back, which “moves” in the summer, instead of the usual February date, and is staged in a virtual edition for the first time.
An exceptional edition from many points of view, waiting for the event in attendance which will take place again in Rho Fiera, from 12 to 14 February 2022.
Mido 2021 Digital Edition was presented on May 19 during a press conference with the participation of the president of Mido, Giovanni Vitaloni, and the sociologist Francesco Morace, founder of Future Concept Lab. Together they gave an overview of the state of the art of the economy Italian, on the scenario of the eyewear sector and on the post-pandemic perspectives of the national and international social situation.
The aim of the event will be not only to confirm the presence of exhibitors and visitors, but, thanks to the web formula, also to expand the basin beyond the 160 countries that attended Mido in the last edition.
Giovanni Vitaloni, president of Mido, underlined during the conference: «We would have liked to surprise you with a new edition with record attendance. Instead we surprise you with an extraordinary new format, an immersive event, a “widespread event” experience. The whole world cannot be in Milan, so Mido goes all over the world. A formula that allows everyone to be there and that allows us to safeguard two of our fundamental characteristics: internationality and concrete business opportunities. We conceived the virtual version and the platform as crucial hubs to maintain and grow, in such a complex moment, one of the most strategic sectors for the global economy “.
Numerous opportunities and initiatives that Mido 2021 Digital Edition reserves. Like the emotional special show “A new way of seeing”, which will inaugurate the event on 5 June, with the photographer Albert Watson as a guest. Starting from his point of view, Watson will talk about the moment of change that the world is going through and the new ways of seeing everything around us: beauty, living together, nature, technology and the future.
Even stands, lounges and rooms become virtual, becoming spaces for the involvement of the public 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, which, until December 31st, will offer events, meeting and business opportunities, with the display of products and the of online trading. A constant work of business development and preparation for what will be a highly anticipated edition like that of February 2022.
Among the other novelties of Mido 2021 Digital Edition, the BeStore award which is enriched with the “Your BeStore” category: all visitors will have the opportunity, through the platform, to vote for their favorite optical center.
