After the rumors of last week, on 11 May the news was made official that the architect Stefano Boeri has been chosen as curator of the Special Event 2021 – whose name will be revealed shortly – by the 59th edition of the Salone del Mobile Milano.
Boeri together with a team of young internationally renowned architects and professionals.The appointment was confirmed by the board of directors of Federlegno Arredo Eventi who entrusted the archistar with the task of designing the new concept of the event, from 5 to 10 September 2021 at Fiera Milano Rho and in the city.
The event will represent a unicum in the international panorama of moments dedicated to furniture and design thanks to an exhibition where companies will have the opportunity to present the best of the production of the last year and a half.The spaces and thematic paths studied by the team of international curators will interact in an unprecedented and dynamic way with the new digital platform of the 59 Salone del Mobile edition. Milan which – after the launch scheduled for June – will express its full potential during the 2021 special event.
The six-day event in September will therefore represent an important innovation hub in view of the 60th edition of the Salone scheduled for April 2022.
A unique project both in the format and in the artistic conception of the 59 edition of the Salone del Mobile Milano. The new project, in fact, in line with the exceptional nature of the times, will address not only the world of sector operators and the international design community, but also the consumer public.Visitors will be able to access the exhibition center for the duration of the event. Furthermore, in addition to viewing news and creations of the brands put in the catalog in the last 18 months, they will be able to buy the creations of the companies at exclusive prices at Rho Fiera.
