The Veronafiere group redefines the structure to reorganize its business and deal with both the current emergency and the redesign of all actions in view of recovery.
As underlined by the president of Veronafiere, Maurizio Danese: «The persistence of the Coronavirus emergency at national level, with the succession of the urgent decrees of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, and the most recent propagation of the same at European level and beyond, have made some decisions unavoidable. For these reasons, the board of directors with the management, today resolved many essential aspects for the continuation of the group’s business. Among these, the redefinition of objectives, strategies and investments for the safety of products, its customers and the business of related sectors. It must be remembered that this complex situation has also had a disruptive impact on the European exhibition industry. To date, more than 200 events are subject to a calendar review, with an overall loss of almost 6 billion euros and 51,400 jobs at risk, without considering the induced and the loss of 39 billion euros of exports generated by international reviews for European SMEs ».
Among the measures adopted by the board of directors of the Veronafiere Group, which met on 23 March in extraordinary call, the transfer of Vinitaly. For the first time in its history, in fact, Vinitaly will also have to postpone its 54th edition.
The concomitant Sol & Agrifood and Enolitech are also postponed with it. The new dates of the events are therefore rescheduled to April 18-21, 2021, while Veronafiere will concentrate the second part of the year 2020 to support the business of Italian companies on the markets.
Regarding this, said the general manager of Veronafiere group, Giovanni Mantovani: «Vinitaly, In agreement with the supply chain organizations, Vinitaly, Sol & Agrifood and Enolitech are therefore moving to the next year. For this reason, in addition to working with extraordinary investments on our events international Vinitaly Chengdu, Vinitaly China Road Show, Wine South America (23-25 September 2020), Vinitaly Russia (26 and 28 October 2020), Vinitaly Hong Kong (5-7 November 2020), Wine To Asia (9-11 November 2020 ) and the initiatives of the Vinitaly International Academy, we put ourselves at the disposal of the sector and of the promotion system to consider the creation of an innovative event next autumn at the service of companies ».
